Contract Type LOA If other, please specify Recruitment Type Open Position Details General Statement The MSU Extension Local Government Center works to strengthen the capacities of local governmental units and provide training, technical assistance, and research services to elected, appointed, and administrative officials across Montana. Duties and Responsibilities Lead the Montana Grown Leadership program development, including the Trailhead and Switchback for Montana Local Governments. Conduct a variety of Trailhead and Switchback programs that meet community needs. Assess program impact through quantitative and qualitative research. Research the development and implementation of the Summit Program which is built upon the supervisor and mid-management training programs to educate and empower leaders to the next level of management. Develop alternative and complementary curriculums for each program to sustain relevance for local governments. Coordinate with Local Governments to assess and analyze professional development and management needs. Develop and implement Montana Grown Leadership programs reflecting the needs identified via analysis. Explore feasibility and options of implementing an Executive Leadership program serving as a capstone for the Montana Grown Leadership program. Conduct program assessment and evaluation regularly to ensure program relevance and impact. Design and manage alumni programs to leverage recent program graduates to serve as program guides, instructors, and mentors. Support other Local Government Center initiatives as needed. Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills Experience independently creating, delivering, and evaluating educational programs, leadership development programs. Leadership capacity and experience presenting to diverse stakeholders. Experience working with local government officials. Understanding of curriculum design, implementation, and assessment. Bachelor’s Degree required. Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills Experience with event management and logistics management for small to mid-size events and meetings. Knowledge of leadership development theory and programs. Master’s degree preferred. The Successful Candidate Will Possess excellent human relation skills. A high level of professionalism. The ability to work effectively with other staff members. Flexibility and innovativeness in order to respond to the changing needs of the Local Government Center and its clients. Computer literacy as demonstrated by evidence of computer use in program development, delivery and/or management. Demonstrated ability to work with little or no supervision. Possess the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ultimately, the successful candidate will be relational, responsive, and reliable. Position Special Requirements/Additional Information A flexible working arrangement may be possible for the successful candidate.Travel required throughout the state of Montana.
