Position Summary:
Under supervision of the Director of Jewish Studies, the program administrator is responsible for all front office functions and serves as the problem-solving point person for a variety of matters. They will also supports postdoctoral fellows, faculty and serves as the face of the department to all visitors. They will coordinate many of the administrative functions for the program, its faculty and special events activities, and maintains the program website. The program administrator interacts daily with faculty, students, visitors, other university staff, and various individuals and organizations outside Rice University.

Workplace Requirements
This position is exclusively on-site, necessitating all duties to be performed in-person in the program office. Per Rice policy 440, work arrangements may be subject to change.
Hiring Range: 25 – 27$/an hour This is a part-time, non-exempt, benefits eligible position, approximately 20 hours per week.

Administers the daily operations of the Jewish Studies program with general guidance of the Director of that program Plans and monitors budgets, including endowment reporting to donors through DAR Maintains the program’s website and all social media interactions Plans, coordinates, and executes events, meetings, and conferences for the program Schedules travel and accommodations for faculty and program visitors, and reconciles all related expenses Provides administrative support to the program, including travel courses and faculty summer research Assists with student recruitment; curriculum support; and manages scholarships and fellowships Recommends and implements outreach plans, including communications, events, marketing, conferences, etc. OwlConnect/BBIS: maintains mailing lists, email lists, and runs bimonthly giving reports Branches (newsletter): solicits, compiles and edits all pieces, and manages distribution Jewish Studies Student Association: works with student board, coordinates events and publicity, assists with registration, and all admin and support duties Performs all other duties as assignedAdditional Functions
