Supervises food service students. Minimum Required Education Associates Degree from a nationally or regionally accredited institution is required in food service management or related field; prefer Bachelor’s Degree from a nationally or regionally accredited institution . Minimum Required Experience Must hold a valid National Restaurant Association Serv-Safe certificate with 2 years of specific experience in Food Service. Must have knowledge of food production, menu management, sanitation, and supervision. Prefer experience in cooking and baking. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities + Demonstrated knowledge in subject matter being taught; + Ability to communicate effectively with students in a clear manner; + Ability to give academic and vocational guidance to students as needed. + Must have a proficiency to communicate in oral and written English. + Must be neat in appearance and exhibit positive professional attitude. + Demonstrated managerial skills. + Must be punctual, dependable, and have the ability to understand and follow directions. + Must be well-grounded in the use of computer technology. + Must be willing to work flexible and non-standard hours and work under exacting conditions. Posting Detail Information Other Information Must possess, depending on course instruction, some of the following skills and knowledge; preparation and demonstration of aspic, cold buffets, sauces, table arrangement, nutrition, and restaurant operations. Must obtain Serv-Safe Managers Certification within 3 months of hire, as a condition of employment. Must provide proof of professional certification within the 3 month time frame.
