Professional Practice Monitoring and Analysis Senior Manager -External
The opportunity
This role is within our PPM&A (Professional Practice Monitoring and Analysis) Practice. You’ll help our firm meet all reporting requirements internally by accurately reporting on internal inspection results. In return, you will develop a thorough understanding of matters the firm is facing and how we are responding to these findings. Your key responsibilities
PPM&A’s primary objective is to gather information to help us assess whether the firm’s guidance tools, training, coaching and consultations enable engagement teams to execute high quality audits or whether there are opportunities for improvement.
• Work closely with Partners and managing directors on engagement inspections through the inspection season to identify where engagement teams continue to require additional guidance in our audit methodology. Inspections will include both pre-report issuance or post report issuance
• Design, coordinate and oversee/execute early monitoring of pre-issuance and AQR (Audit Quality Review) programs
• Perform analysis to identify the potential systemic cause of certain audit quality occurrences and develop responses
• Monitor effective implementation of certain audit quality action plans
• Team with Professional Practice Audit to develop responses to findings
• Participate in Quality improvement development to assist the Firm in efforts to design and implement responsible quality improvement actions
• May coach and develop less experienced team members

To qualify for the role you must have
• A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business discipline, supported by 8 years' work experience as an auditor in a public accounting firm
• US CPA licensure in your work state
• Experience leading the planning, execution and reporting on audits of financial statements conducted in accordance with AICPA standards and applying US GAAP and US GAAS
• Proven project management skills
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills and a collaborative approach to management
• The flexibility to constantly learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
• The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary
• Access to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites. A driver's license is strongly recommended as ride share and public transportation options may not be available in all locations
Ideally, you'll also have
• Experience with SEC clients conducted in accordance with PCAOB standards and SOX404
