Professional Patrol - Experienced Patroller
Overview Base wages PLUS a seasonal loyalty bonus! Professional Mountain Patrollers are responsible for providing emergency services to Summit Resort guests and employees. Come work and play at Seattleā€™s home mountain, The Summit at Snoqualmie. Located an hour from Seattle, at the junction where the Pacific Crest Trail crosses Interstate 90. With summer activities ramping up with spectacular Mountain Biking trails and Scenic Lift Rides, there is lots to do all year long. Responsibilities Job duties may include, but are not limited to: Perform avalanche mitigation work with explosives, Remote Avalanche Control Systems (RACS), and ski cutting techniques Patrol assigned mountain areas regularly to identify and mitigate hazards to guests Ensure compliance with company skiing safety regulations, including taking of appropriate disciplinary action. Perform trail opening and closing procedures as assigned. Perform cliff, high angle, and low angle rope rescues. Search for missing persons and equipment. Qualifications What we are looking for: Expert Skier or Snowboarder. Experience in hiking in rough mountain terrain and adverse weather conditions. Ability to hike with skis and a 20 -30 pound pack daily, up to 60+ pounds occasionally. Ability to obtain Washington State Labor and Industries Explosives License Ability to work in challenging mountain terrain/conditions and adverse weather. REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Must be able to ski or snowboard at a high level of proficiency Medical skills: National or Washington EMT Basic, or Outdoor Emergency Care NSP Certification, Annual BLS Provider CPR Certification. Wage and Benefit Info: The wage range for this positions is: from $23.00 or $31.00/hr depending on experience and certifications This is a non-benefited role. All individuals may contribute to the 401(k). An employee must work 1,000 hours in a calendar year to qualify for the discretionary match (there is a 2 year vesting cliff). All individuals accrue sick time at 1 hour per 40 hours worked to a maximum of 64 hours per year.
