Description

Under close supervision, performs routine SX/EW and Leach testing functions.  Duties include but are not limited to data collection, sample collection and preparation; mine site support and assist in the development and optimization of site processes.

 

Collect data and samples, which may include traveling to mine sitesPrepare samples for analysis and run tests using appropriate established techniques and methodsSet-up of instruments and equipmentResponsible for performing inspections and audits, including but not limited to: work place inspections, safety related inspections, ISO audits and complete documentation as requiredOperate mobile equipment, including but not limited to: forklifts, overhead crane, loaders, skid steersTrain and mentor other employeesMay assist in maintaining laboratory/field instrumentation and equipment; diagnose problems, calibrate and retest as appropriate; ensure lab has appropriate supplies for operationMay compile, assign, track, ship and receive materialsMay lead site audits and other site support projects as requiredMay be involved in project planning and execution of project(s)May enter data into spreadsheets/databasesFollow and understand MSHA and OSHA rules and regulations, Environmental rules and regulations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work area instructionsParticipate in safety and environmental activitiesUse plant and laboratory equipment correctly at all timesPerform housekeeping and other duties as requiredQualifications

Minimum Qualifications

One (1) year of direct lab experience, ORAssociates related degree, which includes six (6) months of related lab experienceAbility to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writingAbility to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautionsKnowledge of lab equipment, lab protocols and techniques appropriate to assigned areasAbility to train others in particular area of lab/tasks

 

Preferred Qualifications

High School diploma or GEDProficiency using MS Excel to develop and maintain spreadsheets, reports and other documentationSX/EW and Leaching experienceMobile equipment experienceOverhead crane experienceExperience with mathematic and/or numbers-based tasksExperience with chemical sample preparation and/or analysisAbility to follow detailed, technical instructionsExperience with tedious or repetitive motions or tasksStrong organizational and documentation skillsAbility and willingness to travel to mine sites with occasional overnight stayExperience working in an ISO 9001/EMS 14001/OHSAS 18001 environment

What We Offer You  

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $23.00 - $31.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
