Elmet Technologies is a leading producer of the high-performance metals including tungsten, molybdenum, tantalum and niobium.  We are currently sourcing candidates for a Production Supervisor at our Euclid, OH facility. This person will be responsible for handling production department functions which includes timesheets, processes, equipment, coaching and managing employees as needed as well as safety and housekeeping in order to meet production quality and quantity standards across all shifts. This position is considered a hands-on working supervisory position whose primary job is to orchestrate coordinated teamwork. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES + Directs the activities of production employees, including but not limited to hiring, motivating, coaching, training, and performance management. + Monitors production levels and reports promptly to managers, production planning and maintenance when delays occur.  Estimate time of delay when production will resume. + Ensures that established policies, rules, regulations and procedures are followed in all areas of production. + Use SAP/Global Shop to support production activities as required. + Maintains the established schedule by coordinating movement of parts through production process working with master scheduling to set weekly capacity based on equipment availability, manpower and raw materials. + Participates in human resource issues and performs daily/weekly timesheet reviews, annual performance reviews of production employees in conjunction with Production Manager. Responsible for identifying and monitoring daily operator performance issues. + Prepare and conduct safety training to employees as required. Participate in daily shift safety touch meetings. + Recommend improvements to the safety and housekeeping procedures. Monitor and develop JSA procedures. Participate in JSBO program. Support near hit and NCMR programs seeking root causes and solutions. + Maintains thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment. Assist in assessing and troubleshooting plant equipment and process problems. + Reviews daily production schedule for the departments to plan work and personnel assignments for the shift. + Distributes plant status reports to the next shift supervisor. + Maintain plant and equipment for safe and efficient operation by working closely with the maintenance department and implementation of PM routines. Address equipment issues and use the on-call Maintenance procedure as required. JOB QUALIFICATIONS + High school diploma or equivalent + 5–10-year experience in a similar manufacturing environment + 3-5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment a plus + Requires the overall knowledge of production operations + Strong multi-tasking, organizational and communication skills as well as solid interpersonal competencies are essential + Ability to communicate proficiently both orally and in writing using the English language + Business needs and trade compliance requirements mandate that this position be held by a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident.
