McCain Foods is accepting applications for a Production Supervisor position, to work at the Othello, Washington plant. Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in potato production operations.  Your participation in the continuous improvement process is required, as you are a member of the leadership team at the facility.  Activities desired in your role as a member of the leadership team are safety audits, quality, process improvement initiatives, employee training, and upgrading your employees and your own current skills.

 

Accountabilities:

Proactively foster and promote the safe work habits of employees.  Ensure proper safety policies and procedures are followed.  Actively participates in health & safety initiatives, taking a lead role in safety optimization in the drive towards zero incidents and interdependent safety culture. Proactively foster and promote everyday engagement across production teams, including action planning, ongoing communications, and continuous 1:1s with teammates.  Work closely with the Production Manager and counterparts to achieve production goals and KPIs efficiently. Leverage the McCain continuous improvement and Managing Daily Improvement (MDI) programs to instill lean manufacturing practices, tools and discipline to ensure plant competitiveness and sustainability. Win with customers and consumers by ensuring all product quality specifications are being followed and adhered to, with an emphasis on minimizing variance. Ensure all HACCP Guidelines, Rules and Regulations are being followed throughout their area of responsibility, including the proper completion of all required documentation. Responsible for front line people leadership responsibilities of their shift in collaboration with Production Manager and Human Resources team, including employee relations, performance management, scheduling, and timekeeping. Miscellaneous related duties that may be assigned from time to time, including conducting test runs on new or existing products, accident investigation, etc.

 

Qualifications:

Passion and dedication for people leadership and team development is a requirement.  Experience working in various factory positions successfully meeting all objectives and responsibilities as required of each role Experience in a supervisory capacity will be considered an asset. Excellent communication skills (both verbal & written). Ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently using effective time management and organizational skills. Experience with applicable software, including Microsoft 365.

 

Skills:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Compensation Package: $65,500.00 -$87,400.00  USD annually + bonus eligibility

 

The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education/training, and other organizational needs.
