Job Summary :

The QRC in Newark specializes in the supply and overhaul of valves and controls for the oil, gas, Power, Water and chemical industries, amongst others. Many of the valves are automated to customer specifications in our well- equipped workshop. Our products have a high-quality standard. Due to increasing activities and growth, we are looking for a Production Supervisor. 

This position requires a strong understanding of the entire cycle of new and repaired control and isolation valve orders and concluding with delivery and acceptance. The Production Supervisor ensures that dates are in control and determines if we need to outsource processes and/or work overtime to meet delivery dates.

The Production Supervisor manages the availability of manufactured parts, purchased parts, and outside operations to align with Flowserve’s shop labour. This position reports to the QRC or Manufacturing Manager and has direct reports.              

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities will be around several aspects:

As Production Supervisor in our dynamic working environment, you will be responsible to manage a team of technicians in our workshop. You will ensure that everyone can do their job properly. By making sure your colleagues have the right knowledge, tools and materials available.  You contribute to the continuous professionalizing process of our QRC and ensuring safety on the shop floor. 

You will be responsible for the planning and execution of daily work in our workshop and warehouse for 

The three pillars in our organization: 

Assembling new automated valves. 

Overhauling control valves, Isolation valves, and actuators. 

Distributing stock  

You are responsible for directing, motivating, and leading the employees in workshop and warehouse. 

You handle correct and timely, production orders in the workshop. 

You are responsible for correctly documenting/administrating maintenance, tests, and inspections. 

You are responsible for performing the role of test coordinator. You monitor test procedures and test methods. 

You are responsible for safety, health and environment in workshop and warehouse. 

You think, decide, and contribute to a strongly growing service & repair department. 

You ensure that the warehouse is run efficiently, and that the incoming and outgoing goods process flows smoothly. 

Leadership :

Perform one-on-one meetings with direct reports providing continuous coaching documented in Workday.

Creating progression development plans for employees.

Managing difficult conversations, resulting in positive outcomes.

Execute monthly facility meetings discussing QRC performance.

Willing to work past regular working hours to support second and weekend personnel.

Safety and Quality :

Managing Safety Committee meetings through the SHEA lead.

Understand and improve the safety maturity standing.

Perform GEMBA walks to drive an improved safety culture.

Resolve Cost of poor quality (COPQ) issues to reduce scrap, rework, and warranties.

Resolve Warranty issues through QualityQuest.

Improve efficiency through our facility utilizing Kaizen projects.

Ensure employees are trained appropriately through PeopleQuest.

Maintenance of the equipment is occurring through PMQuest

QRC Performance :

Driving customer satisfaction by reducing past due backlog and increasing on-time performance.

Driving increased sales with the engagement of the sales team, resulting in increased book-to-ship orders.

Forecast monthly sales with minimal deviation from the first week's forecast by reviewing the entire backlog weekly.

Maintain high accuracy in inventory counts by resolving fundamental issues in cycle counts.

Drive accountability to team members through morning and afternoon meetings

Resolve direct labour and capacity issues.

Coordinating field service tasks with the Field service team and extend assistance as required

Reduce and maintain low excess inventory.

Perform QA/QC roles for the incoming goods as well as finished products

And any other duties assigned.

Requirements:

10 years of experience in manufacture and/or Repair and assembly & testing of valves.

Experience in supervisory role in industrial operations

Strong computer skills using Microsoft office applications.

Able to influence across an organization and build high-performing teams.
