**Job Title: Production Supervisor**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a dedicated Production Supervisor to join our operations management team. Reporting to the Surface Superintendent, the successful candidate will lead and supervise the hourly workforce to safely and efficiently produce and ship bulk and packaged salt products. This role requires empowering employees to maintain positive relations, fostering a team environment, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and ownership.
**Responsibilities**
+ Supervise mill operators, bulk loader operators, package operators, laborers, and contract employees.
+ Ensure safe operations by setting high safety standards and leading by example, complying with MSHA standards and company safety policies.
+ Maintain compliance with environmental requirements and company policies, ensuring spills are cleaned up and pollution control devices are operating.
+ Follow company quality policies, record and track product quality information, and ensure production requirements are met with a focus on safety, compliance, quality, productivity, and efficiency.
+ Request materials, parts, and supplies for operations, minimizing waste and controlling costs.
+ Manage employee timekeeping and job tracking.
+ Assist with interviewing and selecting candidates for hire.
+ Train, coach, and hold employees accountable for performance through discipline as necessary.
+ Collaborate with other departments and staff in a team environment, providing timely reports, information, facts, and opinions.
+ Lead or assist with projects from design to implementation, including installation of new equipment and developing new or changing processes.
+ Ensure regular maintenance and servicing of stationary or mobile equipment, including troubleshooting and supporting corrective maintenance.
**Essential Skills**
+ High School diploma or GED.
+ 5+ years of proven leadership and supervision experience in heavy industry or manufacturing.
+ Familiarity with heavy and light mobile equipment such as front-end loaders, dozers, skid steer loaders, forklifts, telehandlers, boom lifts, trucks, and railcar movers.
+ Familiarity with milling, powered haulage, and support equipment such as crushers, screeners, belt conveyors, screw conveyors, bucket elevator legs, dryers, chutes and spouts, manually or power controlled gates, pumps, fans, scales, and robotic palletizing lines.
+ Strong mechanical aptitude.
+ Ability to organize and plan tasks.
+ Ability to learn and apply maintenance best practices.
+ Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a good customer service attitude.
+ Knowledge and experience with email and computer applications, including Word and Excel.
+ Ability to work overtime, holidays, weekends, and any shift as needed by the business.
+ Ability to lift between 50 - 100 pounds and climb stairs and ladders.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience in the salt or mining industry.
+ Knowledge of safety and/or environmental compliance.
+ MSHA 'blue card' safety training certification is a plus.
+ Maintenance knowledge.
+ Experience with data and report presentation, including constructing and using spreadsheets and computer-based charts and graphs.
+ Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), purchasing software, and/or computerized timekeeping software.
+ Engineering or technical degree, other applicable degree, or equivalent job experience preferred.

**Work Environment**
The Production Supervisor will work in both the warehouse area and the mine, managing a team of 20-30 employees across three shifts. The role involves overseeing operations in a dynamic environment, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency. The position requires variable day and evening/night shifts, as well as on-call requirements.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Permanent position based out of Lyons, Kansas.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
