JOB SUMMARY
The production supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of their plant, including budget, maintenance, quality control, receiving and shipping, and day-to-day operations.
ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Coordinate departments through the supervisors to maintain safety, quality, and efficient production
• Oversee performance of first-line supervisors. Communicate Company standards to staff
• Establish high morale throughout your staff by showing fairness, consistency, and an interest in employee problems
• Report any mechanical, scheduling, or personnel problems that may have significant effects on operations
• Oversee the proper training and manning of plant positions
• Oversee the inventory of parts and supplies in order to ensure a continuous operation
• Responsible for the upkeep of machinery; coordinate maintenance work with a minimum of downtime
• Solve production problems that are not or cannot be resolved at the supervisory level
• Communicate with Accounting, Human Resources, and Purchasing the various needs of the Production Department as well as see those respective department needs are met by Production
• Work with Sales and Design on new styles or items for run ability on existing equipment
• Work with Sales Service to determine proper instructions forwarded to production for producing items
• Provide input for annual budget and capital plan
• Implement, maintain, and support all company policies and procedures, including union contract, safety program, and good housekeeping
• Additional duties may be assigned by management
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or GED plus college and/or appropriate technical courses
• Demonstrated supervisory skills
• Six years’ production manufacturing experience with two years as supervisor
• Clear, concise oral and written English communication skills
• College and/or related technical courses
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
To successfully perform the essential functions of this role it requires the ability to: stand occasionally, walk frequently, frequent use of hands (reach with hands and arms), view computer monitor, use telephone, speak and listen frequently.
