Production Supervisor

The starting salary is based on factors such as skills, experience, location, and market conditions.** **The Production Supervisor is responsible for managing operational activities within the organization. This role involves leading a team of skilled trade professionals and technicians, developing and implementing operational procedures, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The Production Supervisor conducts daily GEMBA work cell audits, reviews operational data, and collaborates with their team and other departments to address operational issues. Safety is our #1 priority and serves as a foundation for our “Win The Day” culture.** **Managing daily operations and ensuring efficient production in alignment with all factory +QDIP metrics** **Identify and lead initiatives guided by Continuous Improvement principles and methodologies to increase factory On-Time Delivery, Inventory Turns and Accuracy, and Productivity** **Setting and meeting production output targets while working cross-functionally with business partners in Planning, Procurement, Material Handling, and EHS to achieve optimal labor and floor space utilization** **Support development of quality control measures, inspection points, and facilitating discussion around problem solving and Root Cause Analysis** **Overseeing and coordinating staff schedules in alignment with business needs and demand requirements** **Conducting regular performance evaluations and providing feedback to employees while building a winning team through positive reinforcement and talent development** **Ensuring compliance with safety regulations, protocols, and quality standards per company policies** **Resolving any operational or personnel issues or conflicts that arise** **Conducting regular equipment, infrastructure, and facility maintenance checks** **Team Management:** **Understand team dynamics and effective management practices. Supervisors should be adept at balancing individual tasks with overseeing team performance, and agile in managing their teams’ needs.** **Conflict Resolution: Ability to address conflicts within the team professionally and constructively.** **Motivational Skills: Inspire and motivate team members to achieve their best.** **Adaptability: Supervisors often encounter changing priorities and unexpected challenges. Being adaptable and flexible is crucial.** **Decision Making: Make informed decisions based on organizational goals and guidelines.** **High Impact Behaviors:** **Leadership by Example: Supervisors should model the behavior they expect from their team. This includes demonstrating a strong work ethic, integrity, and commitment to the organization’s values.** **Team Engagement and Development: Supervisors need to actively engage their team members, recognizing their strengths and providing opportunities for skill development. This also involves offering constructive feedback and fostering a supportive team environment.** **Operational Efficiency: Supervisors should strive for continuous improvement in processes, ensuring that the team works efficiently and effectively. This includes setting clear goals, monitoring progress, and adapting strategies as necessary.** **Qualifications:** **(Preferred) - Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related field with at least 4 years’ experience, 1 year of which as a people manager or equivalent work experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.** **In-depth understanding of production environments, specifically** **_Make to Order (MTO), Engineer to Order (ETO), Configure to Order (CTO)_** **products and operational practices.** **Excellent organizational and time management skills.** **Moderate mechanical aptitude - electrical knowledge** **Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, preferably with demonstrated experience in developing a team’s ability to problem solve on their own through thought-provoking questions (Kata Coaching method)** **Effective communication and interpersonal skills.** **Proficiency and experience with SAP preferred** **Continuous Improvement mindset, with experience in Lean methodologies, principles, and results** **Xylem does not provide visa sponsorship for this position** **\#LI-JTHOMPSON1** Salary range: $62,000.00 - $99,000.00 Join the global Xylem team to be a part of innovative technology solutions transforming water usage, conservation, and re-use.
