Production Supervisor
Production Supervisor City Richmond State/Province Virginia Responsibilities:

This is an onsite, in-person position located at: 5401 Jefferson Davis Highway Richmond, Virginia 23234

This position is a 12-hour rotating shift schedule.

 

Primary Function:

The Shift Supervisor has direct leadership and performance accountability for the shift teams.  This includes the safety, productivity, quality, efficiency, development and morale of the shift employees. The Shift Supervisor must exhibit a high standard for SHE, ethics, and respectful treatment of employees by his/her personal example.  The Shift Supervisor also assures full compliance with all established SHE policies and procedures, and enforces accountability among all team members. The Shift Supervisor plans, directs, coordinates, and controls activities of workers engaged in coating and slitting film.  The Shift Supervisor is the direct manager of approximately 10 wage roll employees in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work.  Other responsibilities include appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.  Additionally, the Film Plant Supervisors have supervisory responsibility for the entire site when the supervisors for other areas are not on site (graveyards, weekends, holidays, etc.).

Qualifications:

Educational Attainment:

Minimum High School Diploma.

 

Knowledge, Experience, and Skills Required:

Industrial / Manufacturing leadership experienceAbility to effectively use Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Ability to write Work Notifications in SAP or similarUnderstand Quality Management Systems used to record test data and product quality information (such as Visitrak, AMOSS, Blaze, etc.)Safety ComplianceExperience Interfacing with stakeholdersExperience coordinating tasksLeadership skills and experienceAdministrating pay and schedulesExperience investigating causes of operational errors resulting in customer complaintsAssertiveness regarding involvement in the operation of the plant

 

Desired Skills/Experience:

Associate or Bachelor Degree, preferredLeadership training and/or certificates.Experience or understanding of basic film coating manufacturing process and technical concepts.Experience with timecard coding, pay adjustments, personnel movements, etc. using ADP or similar software.Safety incident investigation (scene preservation and documentation, using methods such as Root cause / Why Tree analysis, Tracking Database, effective correction actions, etc.)
