Williams-Sonoma India sourcing office was established in 2013. We are based in Gurugram, India. We are sourcing premium products across all categories of Home Furnishing and recorded double digit year-on-year growth. JOB PURPOSE:
This job holder must conduct daily factory in-line and final furniture inspections at his/her assigned factory location, the responsibility starts from end-to-end process – Chemical treatment to shipment, PPM & Pilot Run. In addition, he/she must perform any required in-line furniture tests. His/her goal is to ensure proper quality controls are being maintained and verified by vendor’s own production and QA teams.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES QA- Furniture :
Perform daily Process Spot Audits (Delhi/NCR region) Perform daily in-line and final inspections in accordance with WSI procedures & protocol. Perform required in-line and final product tests in accordance with WSI procedures & protocol. Provide daily quality control reports with accurate data. Take proper care of any assigned testing & inspection tools & equipment's. Take proper care of MCPs & MCSs provided for inspection reference. Support any data analysis and process improvements implemented by higher management Keep his/her reporting manager well informed of any potential issues that may affect quality or delivery. CAPA validation and Confirm Implementation. Others: Establish a technical and business rapport with the vendor’s production team and staff. Understand QA and manufacturing processes within the factory. Learn to solve production quality problems. Learn major wood species /general glue specification/board requirements and MC controls. Learn to perform WSI ISTA in-house testing. Participate in QC training programs in order to upgrade their basic furniture knowledge. Be prepared to work longer hours at short notice on special occasions.
Qualification & Experience:
Bachelor in Mechnical Engineering (Optional wood science/ Engineering or any equivalent degree. 3-4 years of work experience in Wood working / Furniture industry. 80% traveling
Skill set required:
Understand furniture quality control process & system. Knowledge of basic furniture manufacturing processes. Able to read & understand engineering drawings with skills in Auto CAD. Able to handle testing & inspection tools provided. Able to understand fundamental finishing issues & root cause. Computer literate (Especially good knowledge in Excel, Word, Power Point & Outlook email) & understand digital photography. Report writing skills in English & good in communications. Self starter, good attitude & excellent character.
