Your role and responsibilitiesIn this role, you will have the opportunity to ensure efficient and cost-effective production results. Each day, you will be responsible to meet order demand, specifications, quality, and planning targets through the coordination and management of plant equipment, personnel, and production processes (quantity, quality, budgeted costs, and proper productivity level). You will also showcase your expertise by developing programs, projects, goals, and metrics to lead the organization to the highest level of operational performance while optimizing working capital throughout Operations.The work model for the role is: #LI - OnsiteThis role is contributing to the Robotics & Discrete Automation Robotics division in Auburn Hills, MI. Main stakeholders are both our internal and external customers.You will be mainly accountable for:•\tOversees U.S. PDP Assembly and Warehouse operations, ensuring that production goals and KPI’s are met, preparing annual production budget, overseeing progress, and determining actions to cost issues as necessary to manage operations within the budget and resources.•\tDeveloping and executing plans to reduce non-value-added costs, increase revenues, and de-light customers by delivering products on time with high factory and supplier yields and de-creasing product field failure rates.•\tProviding support to the sales team, as required, during customer visits to explain the capabilities of the manufacturing facilities.•\tAssist and back-up the production planning process, manage the equipment maintenance and repair schedules with engineering and maintenance •\tManagement and approval of employee and contractor timecards; approving vacation(s) and sick time in compliance with ABB and federal/state regulations, completion of mid and annual employee PDA’s, aligned with global and local agreed target goals and objectives •\tEnsuring that Four Quadrants (4Q) program training and methods are implemented in the organization; Manage the training matrix to ensure production continuity and minimizing disruptions
Qualifications for the role\tBachelor’s degree and minimum of 8 years’ experience in a manufacturing related role such as production, production planning, production engineering; OR associate’s degree and minimum of 10 years of experience, OR HS Diploma and 12 years’ of related experience.\t5 years of experience in a Leadership Role within production or engineering \tExtensive experience with SAP Production and Warehouse Management modules\tKnowledge and experience with Lean 6 Sigma and Lean Concepts and solving manufacturing concerns\tPrior experience leading diverse and multiple assembly operations and working with various departments (Engineering, Quality, Planning, SCM, etc.) \tTeam player: Other responsibilities and duties may be assigned, and we are looking for a can-didate that will easily jump in to assist on any projects needing additional support.\tCandidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
