Our client is searching for an experienced Production Manager for their Lower South Coast manufacturing facility
Effective running and improvement of CMT outsourcing operations
Implementation of forward planning
To assign monitor and production to meet target requirements
Assessment of CMT operations to ensure fit for purpose
Manage internal staff that is pivotal to the issues of CMT and receiving finished goods from CMT base
Cut sheets initiation with marker making operations and resultant manufacturing through CMT issuance and follow up
Reconciliation of all CMT procurement orders to ensuring optimization of raw materials and trims and appropriate action taken thereof
Management of marker making and the quality and efficiency elements of markers being sent to CMT
Assessment of exceptions and the resolution thereof
Accountability of being involved in the resolution of problematic situations in the CMT manufacturing process
Management of rotation timetable effectively
Input in system of all GRV
Assessment of finished goods received from CMT on the quality bases particularly the items that need to be reworked and returned
Segregate non performing garments and recording them
Insuring correct seal sample and PPS is sent to CMT as counter sample for production and that all details on the tech pack and cut sheets match
Effective planning both raw materials and finished goods requirements
Liaising with planning departments at sales to be directed to their requirements and deadlines
From forecast requirements produce and manager raw material buy plans and finished goods to specific requirements
Purchasing raw materials required for each cycle of production and production of finished goods per cycle
Matching forecast and actual demands to actual finished good requirements on a cycle basis
Initiate manage control and forward planning of stock in both raw material and finished goods to coordinate to the various CMTs the workflow to meet client basket allocations demands
Effective handling and maintenance of raw materials
Understand and manage procurements of raw materials from a cost quality and supply chain basis
Manage and improve cost of raw material to budgets
Identification and coding of raw materials inputted into the system
Manage the bill of material integrity and usage
Manage the quality and testing of all raw materials as well as the dye lot integrity of each consignment
Manage the risk factor of stock holding vs requirements as well as the obsolete and redundant stock
Manage and avert negative stock count situations and if this happens and stock counts numbers are incorrect come up with solutions/alternative plans to rectify
Managing staff in raw material department to meet required targets and connected KPIs/ KPAs
Meet and negotiating with suppliers to meet requirements and improve budget costs
Mitigate the risk of shrinkages
Effective handling and maintenance finished goods
Management of the receiving of finished goods from CMT to match/meet requirements by size and quantity per order
Monitor and manage the quality process in AQL inspections at receiving
Managing staff in finished goods department to meet required targets and connected KPIs
Being responsible and accountable for all client branding in the finished goods and accessorising of garments prior to receiving it
Forward planning to warehouse and distribution with detailed records and sign off
Effectively displaying technical abilities
Managing the process of the prototypes red seals/black seals and preproduction samples PPS at all times
Troubleshooting of situations arousing due to unforeseen manufacturing inconsistencies
Responsible for the technical throughput into production
Ability to solve underlying problematic situations on the fly
Must be a problem solver not an overseer of issues that arise with effective solutions/conclusions
Requirements
Relevant technical degree/ diploma or similar qualification
Minimum 10 years experience in clothing manufacturing
Proven track record of having run and improved a production orientation business that produces off site
Must have Kidswear Sleepwear and Underwear experience
Knowledge and management of the manufacturing process in the clothing industry
Work study management
Proven track record in factory layout and implementation
Pattern making and grading abilities
Computer literacy/ computer added design and/ or machinery preferably Lectra System
Design ability and garment construction techniques
Technical knowledge around equipment and layout of factory/plant
Strong financial background
Ability to prepare and manage budgets Advantageous
