Geismar Utilities & Infrastructure delivers essential utilities, process wastewater treatment, and OSBL support to 32 production units across the 7 OD’s (CI, CM, CP, EM, EN, EV PM, EV) at BASF’s largest integrated North American site.

The Production Manager, reporting to the Utilities & Infrastructure Director, oversees Utilities, Wastewater Treatment (WWTP), and OSBL operations. This role ensures safe, reliable, sustainable, and cost-effective services, aligning tactical operations with strategic goals. The manager leads a high-performance team of up to 50 direct and indirect reports.
As a Production Manager, you create chemistry by...Drive the establishment of tactical goals for the production team, ensuring clear communication between day staff and shift operations.Collaborate across operations, maintenance, and support teams to provide safe, reliable, sustainable, and cost competitive services while managing costs, budgets, and forecasts effectivelyAlign daily operations with strategic objectives, support the value chain, and eliminate barriers to the production team's success.Oversee work process changes, knowledge transfer, and transitions to support organizational implementation.Coach and develop salaried and hourly personnel into high-performance teams reflecting BASF’s culture and values.Collaborate with site leadership to coordinate plant activities, outages, supply/demand issues, and updates.Promote diverse perspectives within the organization.Assess training needs and work with the Learning and Development Coordinator to deliver targeted training for team performance.Ensure accountability and compliance with EHS requirements in this PSM/RMP plant, serving as the leader for all EHS and Quality audits.Leadership Expectations
