Position Summary

 

The Production Manager will manage the activities and performance of Supervisors to ensure that quality products are manufactured on time, safely, and within budget.

Responsibilities Manages the department, ensuring efficient and timely production and proper staffing of all department- related requirements to complete projects on schedule and within budget.Manages the Supervisor(s), ensuring their teams are well managed; supports recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and proceduresAssigns duties, gives verbal and written instructions, and reviews work for conformance to quality and safety standardsProvides technical guidance to team members and consults with other resources when neededCommunicates with the Director, Manufacturing regarding schedules and backlogsWorks with Project Managers and Engineering as appropriateDetermines outsourcing needs to maintain project schedulesReviews labor charges, purchase requisitions, and department schedulesConducts department and CIT meetingsEmployees are responsible to comply with all requirements of Daifuku’s QMS policies and proceduresEmployees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction

 

 

Qualifications Associate’s degree or equivalent experienceMinimum of 5 years of management experience in the material handling industryExcellent management skills for directing, coaching, scheduling, and assisting team membersTechnical orientation with ability to learn new technologiesComputer skills including MS OfficeStrategic thinking and problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsSelf-motivated and detail orientedAbility to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlinesTeam-oriented and collaborative
