Production Manager, Critical Resource Unit (CRU) City Narrows State/Province Virginia Overview:

The Production Manager for the Critical Resource Unit (CRU) is responsible for leading all aspects of SQRE (Stewardship, Quality, Reliability and Engagement) and operating the Acid Recovery, Anhydride Manufacturing and Waste Water Treatment core at the Celanese site in beautiful Narrows VA.

Responsibilities:

Stewardship – Owner of the stewardship performance for the operating area

Responsible for the stewardship culture and performance for ARAM WTP coreEnsures employees performing work within the core understand and operate within the Celanese stewardship programs (e.g. Life critical, Environmental reporting)Develops team risk recognition and mitigation cultureAdministration of process safety requirements and compliance

Quality – Quality performance is known, accurate, and within required range

Takes leading actions to ensure product quality meets or exceeds customer requirementsEnsures product quality targets are reviewed and understood by all members of the teamRecognizes potential quality risks and acts proactively to address these risks before defects occur

Production/Reliability – Meet monthly Sales and Operating Plan Requirements

Recognizes potential risks to production plan and acts proactively to address risks Will quickly develop a detailed understanding of the Cores production capabilities and constraints Validate and coordinate production plansEnsures production reliability and meets the monthly production planEnsures resources, raw materials and supplies are available for unit operationCollaborates with the Asset Leader and Technology Leader on emerging issues and reliability strategy to enable flawless daily execution

Engagement – Develops an engaged, well trained and qualified workforce

Models employee engagement and displays a can-do attitudeActively engages with direct reports, Unit Leader, Asset Leader and Technology Leader to ensure that optimum unit outcomes are achievedReinforce SQRE plans by performing walk-throughs and providing feedbackResponsible for knowledge retention/development of the Core Team Foster a teamwork environment that is inclusive of ideas and solutionsEmployee performance, evaluation and managementMaintain risk registry for daily execution performance and ensure solutions are in place to mitigate or eliminate any concernsDevelop team plan to address emerging needs and/or non-routine activitiesReview KPIs and gaps with team.  Assigns PPR to resolve gaps and follows up on solutionsCoordinates with the Technology Leader to remove technical roadblocksEscalates 24/7 team needs Execute UTP and AOP received from Unit LeaderMaintains the pipeline of continuous improvements ideas for the daily execution teamOwner of the Conduct of Operations systemDrives flawless daily executionCoaches and leads direct reports to fully utilize the operating model to improve performanceResponsible to address and resolve bargaining unit issues in a holistic, timely, professional, creative and constructive manner Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering Demonstrated track record of successMinimum 4 years’ experience in operations, manufacturing or support engineeringExcellent communication skills with cross functional teamsAbility to lead team of direct reports to achieve core and site goals and objectivesAbility to think holistically and to balance changing production demands, equipment reliability, raw material availability, cost and other internal/external production constraints Agility to respond to emerging issues Ability to multi-task and handle multiple simultaneous assignments.High stress tolerance for a demanding production environmentMust have technical reasoning, process aptitude and must be willing to go the extra mile to ensure that optimum business outcomes are achievedARAM Core (Acid Recovery, Anhydride Manufacturing) requires a high level of process safety knowledge
