About the Position: This position is with the Joint Munitions Command located at Pine Bluff Arsenal. This position serves as a Production Controller coordinating maintenance control activities and planning the use of manpower, materials, supplies, equipment, and machinery within the Directorate of Public Works. Responsibilities Performs task that require extensive production control knowledge and shop capabilities Estimates the use of manpower, materials, supplies, equipment, and machinery within the Directorate of Public Works. Reviews all requisitions for accuracy to determine method of procurement. Ensures that all materials are available for Operation and Maintenance personnel. Utilizes multiple Government VISA credit cards for the Directorate of Public Works maintenance materials, equipment, services etc. Monitors workload to achieve effectiveness and efficiency within the maintenance mission. Writes contract or procurement specifications. Studies regulations for guidance relating to the maintenance of supplies and equipment. Prepares cost estimates on various items, to include labor, material and time required to complete assignments. Specialized Experience GS-07: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Assisting with determining if projects are on schedule; 2) Communicating with work leaders and supervisors to ensure monthly schedules can be achieved; 3) Monitoring discrepancies so decisions can be made on projects; AND 4) Reviewing regulations to be able to implement policy and procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. Specialized Experience GS-08: One year of specialized experience which includes 1. Communicating with work leaders and supervisors to ensure monthly schedules can be achieved; 2. Monitoring data collected to identify impacts to production schedules; 3. Analyzing cost estimates so decisions can be made on projects; 4. Review regulations to implement policies and procedures; and 5. Developing specific goals to monitor projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: One and a half years of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond one year (total semester hours minus 18) by 9. Add the two percentages. Specialized Experience GS-09: One year of specialized experience which includes 1. Monitoring projects to ensure they are complete with pre-established schedules; 2. Modifying timelines to address urgent priorities;3. Communicating with department employees and supervisors to determine progress of work; 4. Reviewing the receipt of materials in alignment with established procedures; and 5. Loading files into a logistics automated system for production management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). For the GS-09 level, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Decision Making Manages Resources Organizational Awareness Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent.
