Production Associate - Box Build & Test **SHIFT PREMIUM** (3:30pm to 12:00 midnight)

Working as a member of CWDS’s Production Box Build Test team, you will be responsible for setting up and testing a wide variety of complex circuit cards, graphics cards and single board computers.  As a Box Build & Test Production Associate, you would perform functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including assembly and working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies as well as troubleshooting with different networking setups, switches, routers, computers, linux/windows operating systems including Cisco networking products.  You will have hands on mechanical skills, be capable working with small circuit boards, harness cables and fiber cables as well as be able to read schematics, assembly instructions for dismantle and re-assembling electronic parts that stack up in a confined chassis. You should possess multi-task, communication skills and assist engineers under close supervision in conducting experiments.

Your Challenge:

Set up and perform tests following specific test procedures using mainly manual test equipment.

Identify non-conforming products.

Provide feedback on technical issues to Test Engineering Support.

Capable of troubleshooting and part-swapping/card swapping as required

Suggest process changes and improvements as it relates to your work environment.

Perform ATPs (Acceptance test procedures) for the various products.

Perform JTAG testing for the various products.

Box Build Run-in and system testing.

Attend all provided product test training.

Maintain a safe and orderly work environment.

Willing to support 3 shift rotations as required – afternoon shift is the position now

Responsible to setup/remove test equipment.

Complete all logs, reports and other data as defined by Team Lead/Engineer.

 Assembly of mechanical pieces on to the product as defined by drawings & BOMs.

Apply adhesives or under fill to product as required

What you Bring:

Experience within a PWB assembly or Box build environment.

Experience in working with test procedures and supporting documents

Technical writing experience would be an asset.

Firm technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills

Experience in mechanical assemble, capable working with small circuit boards, harness cables and fiber optic cables

Able to read schematics, assembly instructions for dismantle and re-assembling electronic parts that stack up in a confined chassis.

Strong technical and computer skills as well as MS office tools.

Familiar with DOS operating system and Windows environment.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Experience in a LEAN manufacturing model would be an asset.

Experience in using SAP and MES would be an asset.

Demonstrated ability to multi-task and respond quickly to changes in the build schedule as required.

Electronic Technician or equivalent post-secondary education with three to five years of experience in Test and Mechanical Assembly within a manufacturing environment.
