Production Area Lead
Your Main Tasks & responsibilities:
Leads local grower price discussions to ensure consistent contracting conditions in the area Represents the squad to local authorities, universities, and Bayer support functions for state or country specific requirements. Aligns and agrees base rates, the Crop Plan/Planned Orders, and capacities for the local squad. Responsible for production execution, ensuring outcomes including but not limited to: Safety, compliance, reliability, costs, quality, and timing. Aggregates & coordinates local field production squad’s activities & operations for both in-house & external productions of any seed production contract model. Ensures that local Seed Multiplier / Grower / Toller resources and infrastructure are available, organized, contracted, developed and maintained for sustainable, reliable, and cost-effective seed supply. Ensures all stages of the crop cycle including pre-cleaning operations are executed and managed by the local production team, ensuring all production data are reported in an accurate and timely manner. Responsible for operational compliance to internal Bayer requirements and local regulations. Responsible for the successful execution/deployment of digital innovations & mechanization initiatives in field production operations. Reviews quantity, quality, costs and timeliness data and addresses areas for improvement, simplification, optimization or expansion of our business, including Grower Performance analysis. Responsible for the safe and timely delivery of local production plans to enable business needs whilst meeting field production metrics and optimizing spend. Responsible for local production inventories, controlling costs, reducing field production obsolescence, and insuring all financial KPI’s are met or exceeded. Responsible for the annual and multi-year OpEx, CapEx, and FTE plans for local field production squad to ensure adequate capacity & resources. Ensures financial risk analysis is completed related to over production, guarantees, quality incentives and special terms. Ensures planned orders are accepted within target timelines, AOA’s are created and crops are placed in a manner to meet targeted contract quality, quality, cost and timeliness requirements. Assists with identifying and hiring local talent, as needed. Actively contributes to root cause analysis of any field deviations and non-standard quality seeds. Collaborates with field squad and Quality to identify corrective and preventive actions. Accountable for the co-development and maintenance of relevant QM/ISO procedures, work instructions, and knowledge documents for crop specific content (with Crop Quality Solutions).
Who You Are:
University degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) 5+ years experience in Seed Production/Manufacturing VACC competencies and behaviors: Business understanding & acumen High level of negotiation skills with ability to influence internal team and external partners and stakeholders High emotional intelligence Strong cross-functional collaboration & communication
