Position Summary:

The Production Administrator performs a wide variety of administrative tasks in the Production Control and Manufacturing environment.


Job Responsibilities:

Manage planning and creation of production orders for the Manufacturing department to fulfill customer demands. Conducts needed basic analyses on production activities and inventory movement, so as to help drive efficiency in the related workflows. Requires close interdepartmental communication with the Manufacturing, Warehousing, Customer Service, Sales, and Tech Support teams. Prepares, prints and reviews production orders to ensure correct bill of material, routes, customer requirements are met prior to release to the manufacturing team. Checks availability of material required to build manufacturing products.  Notifies Purchasing Coordinator of any special components required on custom products and any inventory discrepancies. Creates labels for product identification.  Operates and maintains label printers as needed. Assists in the cycle count process. Provides additional support and backs up other Production functions as needed.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: 

Able to work independently as well as part of a team environment. Able to retrieve information and conduct research related to project completion and job responsibilities. Able to think analytically. Capable of establishing priorities and balancing multiple projects simultaneously. Encompasses project management skills from project start to finish. Performs work under minimal supervision. Handles basic issues and problems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Organized and detail-oriented. Able to read, write and interpret various correspondence, memos and instructions. Understanding of basic mathematical concepts, such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing. Proficient in basic to intermediate computer software program including Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work overtime as necessary. Ability to take initiative. Good problem resolution skills.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required. 1 year of production administration experience in a manufacturing environment required. Experience working within an SAP-based ERP system preferred.
