The Product Systems Design Sr. Analyst is experienced in P&C insurance business processes, workflow, and systems. This person will also have extensive experience working with Underwriting, Operations, Product Development, and I/T to define and implement technology solutions.
The Product Systems Design Sr. Analyst will provide analysis support for the implementation of new products and extensions to products on our policy systems. This person will collaborate with business teams, including Underwriting, Product Development, Operations, Compliance, Legal, Actuarial, etc., as well as IT teams and members of other Squads, to ensure a clear understanding of process and system needs, captured in clear and robust specifications.
Understand the overall business vision for Small Business Insurance and work with cross-functional business teams to elicit and define business specifications for systems and processes. Manage the Product Specification Requirements process and lead product and system requirements sessions for both Policy Admin Systems (PAS) and Marketplace. Facilitate sessions that elicit business and Product processing needs and effectively translate those needs to technical team members and other project participants and stakeholders. Develop and communicate clear and robust Product – (PAS) and Marketplace Specification business requirements documentation. Manage to production support KPIs such as issue aging, premium impact, etc. Positively contributes to the achievement of defined Squad Objectives and Key Results. Effectively interpret metrics, dashboards, and data, and appropriately incorporate them into specification and design outcomes, as well as leverage the metrics to offer recommendations for improvements. Act as a coordination point / liaison for business functions and IT and Consulting system implementation partners for all requirements. Work effectively in an Agile Development team environment, collaborating with IT and vendor resources to define solution that support business processes. Review work requests and determine impact of product and system changes to existing processes and workflows. Provide insight into Cost Benefit Analysis of work requests by understanding end-to-end processing flows and integration needs. Participate/Manage the User Acceptance Test process; develop and/or review execution test scenarios that provide thorough testing of new system features, processes, and workflows. Independently identify and bring forth opportunities for improvements and processing efficiencies. Anticipate, negotiate, and resolve business design issues before they impact project success.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
Broad business knowledge of P&C and Specialty, Product Development and Implementation, Operations and Claims, and IT and in-depth knowledge of P&C or Specialty Products, Product Development, Operations, Online Systems, Automated Workflow, and UW Rule Definition. Experience in Product Architecture; demonstrated consulting / design experience in complex technology solutions and technology enabled processes. Strong communications skills to successfully partner with various stakeholders including agents, sales leads, underwriters, operations, IT, and other project constituents. Demonstrate higher level analytical skills; can independently identify and propose alternative solutions. Strong understanding of the business process and product for their area. Knows where the gaps are in the system support of this process/product. Proactively works with cross-functional teams to suggest solutions that lead to improvements. Experience in large/complex technology solution implementations – demonstrated experience in requirements management and program / project management processes and artifacts. Ability to define/document Epics, Features, and User Stories that represent system functionality required to support business functions, along with the associated benefits/value for the users. Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and across Domains. Results and solution-oriented; can work in an extremely fast-paced environment; strong ability to manage and deliver on multiple concurrent initiatives; decisional. Experience using Jira and Microsoft products.The pay range for the role is $98,200 to $167,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors.
