Job description

“CMPT Marketing - Product Specialist”

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Product Specialist to join our team. The Product Specialist is a versatile role that blends the responsibilities of a Product Segment Application Specialist (50%) and a Product Line Specialist (50%). Reporting directly to the Product Line Manager, the Product Specialist will play a crucial role in driving sustainable profitable growth by transforming customer needs into effective solutions, and in optimizing product value and profitability, ensuring efficient and consistent production for the CMP Poromerics product line, through centralizing and providing required data and analysis.

The role involves close collaboration with the Market Segments Managers, R&D, Integrated Operations teams, and other cross-functional stakeholders, making it essential for driving our strategic initiatives and achieving our business objectives.

Primary responsibilities for Product Line management support include:

Optimizing Value and Profitability:

Analyze trends in average price and product mix, COGS (both fixed and variable), product margin (percentage and dollars), sales and demand, and costs.Provide actionable insights to optimize product value and profitability.Support long-term forecasting process (6 months to 24 months and the 5-year horizon), including sales trends and market analysis.

Ensuring Efficient and Consistent Production:

Monitor manufacturing performance metrics such as OEE, yield, scrap, unplanned downtime.Track supply chain performance, including delivery to promise, capacity utilization, backlog.Manage orders at risk (OAR) process, ensuring timeline communication with the sales team.Assist in performance analysis to identify trends, issues, and opportunities aligned with product line strategy.

Product Lifecycle Management:

Conduct product lifecycle analysis, maintain current stages of each product, and manage product evolution and discontinuations.Oversee product rationalization process.

Supporting Raw Material Strategy:

Support key supplier relationships from the Business side and participate to supplier visits to ensure raw material quality, availability, and alignment with the Product line strategy.

Business Continuity Planning:

Assist in updating and maintaining the business continuity plan for the product line.Ensure readiness for any potential disruptions in production or supply.

Primary responsibilities for Product Segment management support include:

Product Development and Commercialization support on:

Shepherding the Stage Gate process for new products development from “Assessment” to “Commercialization” stages.Defining and positioning new products, including branding, utilization, value proposition, and technical requirements, including new Raw Materials strategy counseling with R&D and Procurement (technical roadmaps, price points, volumes, capacities, limitations, etc.).Ensuring marketability of Products from a Stewardship and Regulations standpoint for all targeted regions.

Product Portfolio Management support on:

Integrating new Products into the Offering Portfolio, maintaining Product Selection Guides by applications.Coordinating the production of Application Briefs/Notes between Application and Field Service Engineering.

Market and Industry Relationships support on:

Building and maintaining commercial relationships with Tier 2 third parties active in CMP, such as Tools OEM, Slurry suppliers and Conditioner suppliers.Establishing collaboration frameworks to position the business as preferred Pad supplier.

Newark Bellevue site - Hybrid work model (80% in office / 20% remote)

Job Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor's degree in science or business required Master’s degree (preferred)Minimum. 3 years with prior product management responsibility (or similar).Minimum 3 years with prior relevant experience in manufacturing or Supply ChainDemonstrated strong key skills in Problem Solving, Quality management and Product Lifecycle management.Demonstrated strong key skills in strategic thinking and product portfolio management.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.Ability to navigate a matrix organization structure and partner with the Functions to meet or exceed internal customers’ expectations.Result oriented; can demonstrate a track record of setting clear priorities and goals and delivering against them.Good communicator who is highly effective at building and maintaining networks; effective written, oral and presentation skills.Full professional proficiency in English (spoken, written, read).Fluent with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), especially Excel.

Preferred but not required:

Engineering degree in chemistry, physics, electronic or material scienceDegree in Business Administration (MBA or similar)Demonstrated strong skills in new digital technologies.Experience with advanced data analysis tools and software.Good understanding of CMPT fundamentals and principles.Experience in the semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing industry.
