Job Summary:

The Product Segment Management has global accountability and owns the strategic management of a specific product technology to achieve sales, margin, asset management and market share KPI’s whilst driving key supplier and customer satisfaction. The role has end-to-end responsibility for a dedicated Product Segment.


Principal Responsibilities:

Accountable for creating and driving the overall product strategy to achieve the defined sales, margin, asset management and market share KPI’s Manages the product range - managing the portfolio of products throughout their life cycle – e.g. new technology and franchise negotiations and introductions, product range extensions, inventory depth decisions and exiting end of life productsManages the full relationship and business development plans (including review meetings and industry events) within the product business unit to help achieved the defined KPI’s/commercial terms. Potential to lead the strategic relationship with suppliers that sit across several business units. Accountable for the commercial and contractual supplier termsAccountable for both the buy and sell price aspects of the product business unit to deliver margin growth and price sustainability. Manages the overall inventory health : including budgets, influencing turns, line fill and provision & excess to achieve the defined KPI’s Partners with stakeholders to ensure all marketing programs are planned and executed on time, Product strategy is communicated and training provided to sales teams and strategic e-commerce plans developed Provides market insights and knowledge to influence the success of the business unit and wider company, including new suppliers, technology trends, and changes in customer demand within assigned portfolio including supplier market share data.Administration of assigned products throughout their life cycle. Including; system maintenance, ensuring products are in the optimum saleable position, PDD co-ordination, product maintenance / housekeeping and ad-hoc analyticsAccountable for resolving customer issues including liasing with suppliers in multiple time-zones to resolve issues in a timely mannerCooperate with commercial marketing and suppliers to provide content for agreed marketing activities.

Effects of erroneous decisions may be long-lasting, influence the future course of the organization and/or require the expenditure of extensive additional resources.


Work Experience:

Typically 8+ years with bachelor's or equivalent.


Education and Certification(s):

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
