The Product Sales Specialist manages product customer relationships, secures new customers within a defined geography; develops a deep understanding of the markets served, buying trends, competing products and potential new product offerings; meets customers’ needs while helping them to get the most out of the products provided by Casella.
Salary Range: $59,000.00-$70,000.00 per year.
Key Responsibilities Maintains positive customer relationships to build partnerships, solves problems and implements retention strategies; participates in industry association events to grow Casella's brand recognition.Communicates effectively and exchanges account information between all Casella operating entities; provides a primary point of contact for customers and collaborates with the Client Services team and division operations teams to ensure all inquiries and requests are resolved, and customer satisfaction goals are achieved.Performs comprehensive, qualified, market assessment of product sales opportunities across a defined geography and in target segments such as agriculture, horticulture, and topsoil manufacturing.Increases revenues and profit by maximizing the value of Casella products for customers and building the number of customers served.Creates a development plan for acquiring new customers and achieving stated growth targets; maintains new business pipeline and contract retention activities; utilizing Casella's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to track all activities and applicable information.Participates in inter-regional sales initiatives and actively identifies opportunities to cross sell other Casella services.Prepares sales proposals, leads responses to bids and coordinates with the Division Manager and Director of Product Sales to determine product pricing and volume incentives.Prepares and executes Product Reviews with customers to grow insight into Casella services, track continuous improvement and identify new opportunities.Reviews and understands profit and loss (P&L) impacts for each customer; works with operations Division Managers to make improvements.Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales, and services and performs any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and/or abide by our core values. Education, Experience & QualificationsThe successful candidate will have an associate degree in agriculture or other related field, 3-4 years of business experience with increasing responsibilities, and be legally eligible to work in the US. A bachelor’s degree in agriculture, horticulture or a related field, experience, or interest in an environmental and/or sustainability field and experience in data analysis is preferred.
Outstanding relationship management skills, excellent listening, communication and problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and develop sales opportunities are required. Pruriency with Microsoft Office applications, a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment and strong analytical skills and technical problem-solving skills are needed.
