Copeland Canada has an immediate opening for a Product Planner reporting to the Manager, Product Planning. The Product Planner has end-to-end ownership of the product lines for which they are responsible. This includes both current product/portfolio management and new product introduction.

Major Areas of Accountability
Product Planning and Strategy
Oversee the execution of the local business plan throughout various phases of product life cycle; Development – Launch - Sustain - Phase-out.
Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
Collect feedback to understand customer requirements that are unique to Canada and qualify those opportunities for profitable new product development.
Collaborate with US product planning to include local product specifications, features, and performance targets into plans.
Product Launch
Monitor the end-to-end product development process, from concept ideation to commercialization; present these updates internally on a regular basis.
Coordinate with marketing and sales teams to develop go-to-market strategies, promotional materials, and training programs for new product introductions.
Coordinate with operations team to ensure operational readiness for new product introductions.
Product Lifecycle Management
Monitor product performance and market feedback, and share opportunities for product enhancements, updates, or obsolescence with US Teams.
Conduct assessments of product line profitability, sales volumes, and market share
Implement product lifecycle management plans, including product enhancements and end-of-life strategies.
Collaborate with sales and customer support teams to provide product-related training and initial technical support.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Foster strong relationship with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, customer support, operations, and US product planning.
Work closely with marketing and sales teams to develop effective product positioning, messaging and sales collateral.
Engage with customers, industry associations and trade shows to gather market insights and maintain a strong understanding of customer needs.
Facilitate collaboration efforts with various functions globally to ensure leading edge technology and speed to market by leveraging common designs.
Lead process improvement initiatives for the organization, develop material for top level reviews.
Summary of Key Qualifications:
Two-year technical diploma, bachelor's degree in engineering / business, or equivalent
Deep knowledge of the HVAC/R industry, including understanding of compressor technologies, market dynamics, and industry regulations
Effective communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and customer insights to drive product decisions and results.
Experience in project management is preferred.
Relevant technical (HVAC/R) experience is an asset
Working Requirements:
This position will be based on the Canadian headquarters in Brantford, Ontario. The candidate must be eligible to work in Canada and travel to the United States. There is approximately 10% travel expected within Canada and selected visits to USA.

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during the annual merit review process. In accordance with the Ontario Employment Standards Act, 2000 (ESA), the base salary range for this role is $46,000 - $74,000 CAD annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
