Job Title: Product Manager, Reach-in Door Cases
Location: Richmond, VA
What we are looking for:
We are looking for a Product Manager who will be tasked with managing their product portfolios throughout the product lifecycle from planning to execution in support of organizational strategy and objectives.
This position is responsible for customer VOC, category management, product line simplifications, margin enhancement and the planning / execution of new product development. This position includes product lifecycle management, support of the global sales effort, and development of new products and strategies for the assigned product lines across core case products. This Product Manager must work with a cross functional team of stakeholders at multiple locations to understand problems and find innovative solutions.
What you’ll be responsible for in this role:
New Product Development/Lifecycle Management for Portfolio (~65%)
Develop and execute annual and long-term (3-5years) growth strategies. Deliverables include product, technology and/or service roadmap and associated business case. Perform regular VOC to identify market trends, market drivers, customer satisfaction level needs and buying behavior. Develop comprehensive product definitions including models, base configurations and required options enabling guided selling and portfolio simplification. Develop a library of market segments and applications and identify what products are required to be successful in these areas. Determine market size (revenue, units), growth and opportunity for each collaborating with corporate market research. Identify market drivers and customer buying behaviors. Maintain market focus by regular contact with customers, sales and marketing. This includes responsibility for conducting distributor and end user training. Work closely with sales management to provide forums to interact with customers in identifying growth opportunities and new product development ideas. Work closely with Marketing in areas of advertising, promotion marketing campaigns and driving go to market product launch efforts. Provide Sales, Customers and Channel Partners with support, information and materials to learn about products and applications. Work closely with TAG team to develop/update technical marketing materials (data sheets, I/O manuals, CAD/Revit assets, and/or product renderings. Provide project management support for major cross-functional projects as well as product management projects. Attend regional and national sales meetings and conferences. Ability to present products via internet conferencing, in-person meetings, tradeshows or other industry events.Category Pricing Strategy & Competitive Intelligence (~20%)
Collaborate with enterprise pricing teams to strategically position the list pricing and discount levels (including floor pricing) by customer and product line. Collaborate with enterprise pricing group on strategic pricing initiatives and bids. Extrapolate “should cost” for competitive products by using best available market information/data sources. Identify and execute appropriate actions for product lines that fall below target margins. Perform competitive analysis including SWOT, competitive pricing, features and product breadth comparisons to establish price/value positioning for assigned portfolio. Clearly identify target customers and markets, primary benefit, and value proposition of the assigned portfolio.Other (~15%)
Product simplification, core definition & product lifecycle management of assigned product lines. Work with cross functional team to implement AOP initiatives to enhance profitability of products. Support customer requests for product modifications (E#s, BCAs, etc.). One-off analysis as assigned. Monthly reporting on key metrics for assigned portfolio. Assist with other strategic projects and related duties as assigned.What are the basic qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field such as economics, communication, advertising, marketing, or statistics 3 to 5 years of combined experience in Product Management, Market Analysis, Category Management, or Sales Management
What are the preferred qualifications:
Master’s degree or MBA preferred Experience in food retail or refrigeration industry preferred
