Product Manager, Design & Engineering Systems
As Product Manager for Engineering Systems, you will own the product vision and roadmap for our global design and engineering platforms, including PDM/PLM and CAD solutions. You will partner with engineering stakeholders to drive value through standardized practices, optimized workflows, and consistent product development processes. Success in this role means delivering solutions that accelerate engineering innovation while advancing company strategic deployment goals.
Core Responsibilities:
Design and Engineering Systems Focus:
Define and maintain product vision and roadmap Coordinate translation of engineering needs into actionable initiatives, epics, features, and user stories Manage work intake process and AFE (Authorization for Expenditure) documentation Lead backlog prioritization for engineering systems improvements Track and report on benefits realization through regular retrospectives Support CAD standards strategy and implementation across global engineering teams Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between Engineering, IT, and business teamsProcess Harmonization Focus:
Develop and implement technical standards and best practices Facilitate standardization of engineering workflows and processes Drive automation initiatives for design and engineering processes Manage integration between engineering systems and enterprise applications Coordinate between global engineering teams for process alignmentStrategic Leadership:
Partner with stakeholders to define and execute engineering systems roadmaps Align technology initiatives with engineering strategy and ROI expectations Drive continuous improvement through metrics and feedback loops Coordinate change management efforts for new processes and toolsRequired Skills:
Technical Expertise:
Understanding of Engineering Data Management best practices Experirence with CAD systems and design processes (SolidWorks and SolidWorks Manage preferred) Experience with PDM systems and product development lifecycle Excellent understanding of agile methodologies Familiarity of robotic automation and integration toolsBusiness Acumen:
Proven ability to translate engineering requirements into prioritize features and user stories Experience with benefits tracking and ROI analysis Strong understanding of engineering data standards Knowledge of global engineering workflows and challengesProject Management:
Experience managing complex technical initiatives Ability to create and maintain product roadmaps Expertise in backlog management and prioritization Strong stakeholder management skillsPreferred Qualifications:
Education:
Associate’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related field 3-5 years enterprise experience in related rolesExperience:
