The Product Manager, Automated Marketing will be responsible for defining and executing the ongoing product strategy, vision, and roadmap for Thrivent’s Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC)Platform. The Product Manager in this role partners with the Engineering Manager to deliver best-in-class, personalized experiences for end users and customers that increase customer interaction, engagement, and conversion with Thrivent’s products and services.
In this role, the Product Manager will focus on using the SFMC platform to drive strategic outcomes for Thrivent and build strong partnerships and alignment with stakeholders across multiple business units. The ideal candidate will demonstrate adaptability, platform expertise, and the ability to manage and advocate for multiple initiatives concurrently. This role will partner with the Engineering Manager to lead dedicated Salesforce product and engineering teams. The Product Manager will handle discovery, scoping, and prioritization of a wide range of strategic needs, from major initiatives to smaller enhancements.
The Product Manager is accountable for a deep understanding of business objectives and driving the product toward meeting and exceeding those objectives using Salesforce.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the long-term product roadmap as part of a larger business strategy. Develops a compelling product strategy through analysis of personas, use cases, customer benefits, and solution value propositions
Consistently and iteratively ensures that business strategies are being executed through product roadmapsLeads team collaboration to manage and prioritize product roadmap and releases across multiple productsCollaborates to resolve conflicts in a constructive manner when they ariseAccountable to ensure that product teams understand the outcomes needed, and that outcomes are tied to a broader goal or objective using an OKR frameworkIdentifies and tracks Key Performance Metrics; accountable to ensure that KPIs are delivering the necessary business value. Facilitates conversations and coaching with product teams and relevant stakeholders to address gaps and necessary improvements to delivering specific KPIsEnsures outcomes on the roadmap fit within capacity constraints and are prioritized and sequenced in order to maximize value to the customer. Is available to consult on broader roadmap objectives with business and technology partners. Leans into prioritization and tradeoff discussions across stakeholder groups to effectively manage decisions associated with product roadmapsEngages with customers and users on a regular basis to uncover implicit and explicit needs, and translate to product hypothesis which are tested and refined to deliver solutionsCollaborates across product teams to develop and roll out operational plans. Facilitates conversations across product teams to ensure alignment. Coaches team members on effective product management and agile techniques to help mature the abilities of the entire teamResearches and identifies industry best practices and trends to increase effectivenessAcquires, maintains and applies advanced knowledge of the business, its products and processes, and an academic understanding of Product Management. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Required:
Deep knowledge of Salesforce platform capabilities including industry trends and best practicesPrior Product Manager experience within the Salesforce ecosystem (preferably with Marketing Cloud)Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience7 - 9 years relevant business experience, including in product owner role or similarUnderstand fundamentals of iterative development, software development process and proceduresExpertise in the principles of Agile Product Management, stakeholder management, market and user research, technology management, and process designHigh level of organization and attention to detailPassion and understanding of new technology and trendsExcellent communication, collaboration and influence skills among all organizational levels; strong facilitation and executive communications skillsPreferred:
Certified Product Manager or similar certificationProven success developing business cases, roadmaps, and business unit strategyStrong ability to effectively manage and resolve conflicting prioritiesExpertise in developing and delivering product strategy, articulated in terms of value and outcomes with relevant and compelling metrics and measurementsExpertise with foundational product management tools, techniques and principles across discovery, design, build, release, and measure cycle.
