SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility of this position is to support engineering initiatives related to product design, testing/evaluation, and quality assurance. He/she will work closely with a product engineer, CAD Administrator, and/or Sr. Lab Technician to complete assigned projects. Project work will include NPD, product enhancement, cost reduction, performance/endurance qualification testing, and other related activities. This role will be a blend of computer work using CAD/MS Office tools and laboratory work. This position will report into the Product Engineering team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Develop products/components that meet targeted customer requirements from defined specificationsCreate 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks in support of Engineering Change and NPD initiativesComplete performance, endurance and other functional tests on new, existing and field returned product Support engineers with tolerance stack-up and other analysis such as stress/strength calculationsDevelop Proof of Concept prototypes using 3D printed parts, in-house tools, or outsourced supplier as requiredSupport Manufacturing and Quality Engineers in production and supply chain issuesRepresent Product Engineering on cross-functional teams/activities as assignedPerform other related duties as assigned.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
