We are looking for a
Product Engineer
to support multiple departments, including Technical Identifications, Parts Sales, Purchasing, Pricing, Assembly & Testing, and Quality Inspection.
The preferred location for the position is in Hattem, The Netherlands.
What you will be doing
This function is an introduction to a Maritime Commercial/Technical working environment where your technical onboard experience is appreciated and utilized in the Global Maritime market.

As Product Engineer your work will focus on these responsibilities:
Business Tools & System Management Ensure the correct processing of SAP documents, requisitions, orders, reports, and analyses in systems such as SAP, CRM, and Product Dashboard. Technical Identification & Documentation Identify correct and valid spare parts numbers for non-listed or out-of-stock parts, initiating corrective actions where needed. Maintain aftersales documentation and instructions. Sales & Order Processing Handle administrative, commercial, and organizational processing of spare parts sales orders from network offices, distributors, and direct customers. Provide back-order availability updates to internal stakeholders and external customers. Ensure accurate pricing, delivery time, payment terms, bank guarantees, Incoterms, and technical feasibility of orders. Negotiate scope details independently with customers or internal stakeholders when required. Sourcing & Supplier Coordination Initiate purchase orders based on available data and valid quotations. Monitor delays or uncertainties and proactively communicate with sales teams. Coordinate with suppliers (within contract limits) to expedite rush orders or complete pending orders. Pricing & Analysis Execute pricing tasks aligned with strategic targets. Conduct ad-hoc analyses to support pricing decisions. Assembly & Testing Assemble parts into component assemblies following instructions. Provide measurement reports and initiate assembly orders based on system data. Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and document results. Quality Inspection Inspect received goods against technical and order specifications. Assess returned goods for condition and usability.
To be successful in this role we expect you to have:
Senior Secondary Vocational Education (MBO 4 / HBO) in Marine Engineering (Marof - WTK) or a related technical field. 3–7 years of hands-on experience in a technical (maritime) or field service environment. Experience with technical spare parts sales or service is a plus. Strong analytical skills and a passion for solving complex technical spare parts requests. Excellent teamwork and communication skills. Customer-focused and service-oriented with a proactive can-do mentality. Fluent in English; Dutch is a strong advantage. Ability to work with multiple systems, including SAP, MS Office, and digital archives. Willingness to travel for business (planned trips, max 1–2 weeks per trip).
