Job Description
The Product Engineer, under the leadership of the Manager of Manufacturing, will support the process to provide essential, cost-effective product design support. This role involves being responsible for the design and documentation of products during the design and development phases, owning design and development activities, driving cross-functional involvement in strict adherence to the development process, partnering in the identification of new suppliers and driving supplier development process, and supporting procurement in the management of the existing supply base. An understanding of current automotive accessory trends is essential.
Responsibilities
+ Design and document products during the design and development phases.
+ Own design and development activities.
+ Drive cross-functional involvement in adherence to the development process.
+ Partner in the identification of new suppliers and drive the supplier development process.
+ Support procurement in the management of the existing supply base.
+ Produce engineering designs and drawings in accordance with applicable drawing and quality standards.
+ Maintain proficiency with drawing standards and tolerancing.
+ Maintain proficiency with document and configuration control methods and standards.
+ Ensure adherence to accessory product expectations for assigned accessory product categories.
+ Maintain vehicle applicability, conflicts, and requirements for accessories.
+ Facilitate accessory supplier readiness for manufacturing of accessories.
+ Facilitate accessory manufacturing process readiness for installation of accessories, including installation training for trainers.
+ Participate in model year carry-over validation activities.
+ Support accessory product quality problem-solving efforts, including supplier corrective action.
+ Participate in the development of Field Quality Plans for newly launched accessories.
+ Review warranty and other indicators of field performance and customer satisfaction.
+ Continually improve accessory development and launch processes.
+ Help determine the direction of the accessory portfolio and optimize accessory product categories.
+ Receive, transmit, and handle consumer and customer data per applicable policies and procedures.
+ Review and follow data privacy practices, policies, and guidelines.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.

+ Participate in meetings and presentations.
Work Environment
This is an onsite position. The Product Engineer will work at their desk and occasionally go out on the shop floor. They will observe as samples are made, perform fit checks on vehicles, and assist with sample production. Work hours are flexible, with core hours from 9 am to 4 pm.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $39.00 - $44.00
