**10482BR** **PRS Facility Location:** EMD HQ LaGrange, IL - 400 **Job Purpose:** Primary function is to direct the planning and development of the EMD locomotive platforms to meet the objectives of specific market segments of the business including focus on long term profitability of the product lines. This includes development of platform architectures which minimizes engineering costs across multiple projects. This also includes managing overall locomotive product integration for both new development and customer specific projects. Advanced technical degree and or MBA preferred. **Job Title:** Product Director, Locomotive Platform **City:** La Grange **Key Job Elements:** Key job responsibilities include: - Accountable for delivery of the locomotive development projects on time, at cost, with quality - Driving NTI and NPI product development excellence across the team - Implementation of locomotive product strategy - Management and development of high performing engineering team - Ensuring the product development organization has the people, processes, and tools to facilitate success The incumbent will also be accountable to develop and implement Multi-Generational Product Plans, (MGPP) and design programs which provide performance and feature options that meet the Critical Customer Requirements (CCRs) as well as working strategically within the business to determine what the customer values. The position requires at a minimum 10% travel to customer locations, manufacturing facilities, testing sites, and engineering partnership locations. **Qualifications and Experience:** This position requires: a thorough understanding of the locomotive products including rail customer decision making criteria and operations; a thorough understanding of business processes and governance; demonstrated ability to deliver high velocity programs; and strong leadership, coach, and mentor skill set. Complete understanding of company policies and procedures related to manufacturing, engineering and/or maintenance are also required. In addition, at least fifteen years of progressively responsible job-related experience are typically required. Excellent interpersonal skills are required in order to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, or persuade others inside and outside the department to take specific actions. Essential and Physical Activities Functions • Strength – Position typically involves work in an office environment with occasional visits to an industrial environment. Frequent sitting. Occasional standing and walking. Occasional light to medium-level lifting (up to 30 pounds); • Motion – Position regularly requires standard motions associated with working in an office environment; • Vision/Hearing Requirements – Frequent verbal communications, including both talking and hearing; • Work Environment – Position is typically located in an office environment with occasional visits to an industrial environment which may include a non-temperature-controlled environment, as well as exposure to noise (85+ decibels), occasional exposure to temperature changes, heavy machinery and other hazardous working conditions requiring the use of PPE; • Emotional Demands – Very high level of responsibility. Must be able to coordinate diverse aspects of a project. Requires significant interpersonal skills while sustaining very high standards; • Safety – This is not a safety sensitive position, but may occasionally require the use of Personal Protective Equipment during visits to industrial areas.
