Product Development Specialist

Job Summary

This position is responsible for the development of formulations while supporting purchasing and overall operations of the products. The job involves a high degree of nuance specificity, requiring flexibility and excellent attention to detail.

PAY24 - 31.25 per hourSHIFT

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or Food Science requiredPreferred a minimum two years in a lab environment or relevant experience in educational atmosphere.Formal training in Continuous Improvement, Lean or Six Sigma preferredApplied MathematicsExperience with common laboratory equipment and good laboratory practicesProject Management SkillsStrong computer skills with applied use of ERP systemExperience with Experimental Designs.Experience with problem solving and analytical tools.Ability to learn and communicate technical/scientific information to non-technical audiences.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Generate dietary supplement formulations to meet customer requirements.Set up ERP product data including product item codes, BOM’s, and routings.Analyze costs and create price quotations for manufacturing services.Review customer specifications. E. Reformulate current products per changes in customer specifications, raw material changes, etc.Analyze cost implications of material price fluctuations.Assist Purchasing in the qualifying of new raw materials.Provide recommendations to lower costs, improve efficiency, etc.Other duties as assignedMust be able to successfully pass all job-related tests and certifications required for working in a cGMP, quality environment including but not limited to: inspections and GMP requirements to perform essential functions of the job. Must re-qualify every year on all job-related tests and certifications as job or qualifications require.
