Reporting to Telesat’s Product Cybersecurity Manager, the candidate will help the engineers within the Satellite and Ground systems teams ensure that all designs for the Lightspeed implementation (labs, satellite operations, ground stations, etc.) will meet IA-Pre requirements.Main ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the product development and engineering teams to ensure that Cybersecurity controls are integrated into the product designConduct regular cybersecurity reviews of products during the development phaseIdentify vulnerabilities or control deficiencies to address potential threatsDevelop strategies in collaboration with the Lightspeed product and engineering teams to mitigate identified vulnerabilitiesConduct product security training for employees and customersEducation and Experience RequiredA Diploma or Degree in a relevant area of study with preference for Computer Science/Cybersecurity2 years of experience in product security, IoT security or cybersecurity architecture related experienceKnowledge of NIST 800-53 controls is an assetCISSP certification is an assetAbility to achieve Secret clearanceSpecialized Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to collaborate with product teams integrating security by design principles and approachesExperience applying cybersecurity concepts to protect satellites and their supporting ground systemsKnowledge of security review processes related product development cyclesAbility to conduct threat analysis to identify potential vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategiesKnowledge of NIST 800-53 controls and CNSSP-12 Policies is an asset
Decision Making and SupervisionMake decisions and recommendations within established procedures, based on NIST 800-53, Telesat Policies and other compliance frameworksCoordinate with security team as well as business partnersWork under minimum supervisionWorking ConditionsGenerally comfortable office working environment Although limited, the employee must be able to travel to corporate facilitiesThe successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods program (CGP) as well as a Canadian Government Secret clearance.
