**I. Purpose of Position** The purpose of the Product Application Engineer, is technically manage open innovation projects from initial product exploration to market launch and post-launch promotion, drive organic growth in terms of product innovation for Hach China and Hach global. **II. Key Responsibilities** + Tracks industry trends, competitors, and emerging technologies. + Address application technical issues of the current product line to maintain product competitiveness. + Identify water quality analysis hotspots and provide high return on investment projects for the company through technical and commercial evaluation. + Ensure the product development process and subsequent market promotion by leading external innovation projects or participating in new product development. + Leads Open Innovation projects as project manager, works closely with R&D, Service, Product Support team to ensure cross-functional resources and supports for Open Innovation projects. + Manages Open Innovation projects through the OI processes, works with Product Managers in creating, executing and analyzing VOC plans; links prioritized customer needs in performance on product lines with focus on future product requirements including enhancements and break through. + Prepare sales tools, such as value selling document, application note, for new Open Innovation product launch successfully. + Training and field support for new Open Innovation product promotion to sales, marketing and channel partner. **III. Education, Background and Skill Requirements** + Bachelor's degree from reputable university in a technical or business field or equivalent highly desirable. + Relevant experience in project management, product development or business management. + Familiar with water industry instrument and operation. 1~3 years relevant working experience is preferred. + Good understanding of Voice of Customer research methodologies and applications (e.g. observational techniques, focus groups). + Experience in project management tools and processes to manage multiple projects in parallel. + Capable of working cross-functionally and cross-regionally through Leadership by Influence + High energy, proactive, people-oriented and results-oriented approach to work and learning + Fluent in English.
