Key Responsibilities:

Acquisition Terms Negotiation:

Assists with negotiation of complex agreement terms and conditionsIdentifies suboptimal agreement termsNegotiates specific agreement types (examples: IT maintenance contracts, lab supply contracts)Demonstrates continual improvement of negotiation skillAccurately documents all negotiations and transaction detailsCreates and manages purchase orders for materials and services within delegated signature authority


Vendor Management:

Surveys open market and internal sources for accurate information about vendor performanceConsistently applies vendor quality criteria to evaluate vendor performanceMaintains objective performance criteria for all assigned vendorsAids in the selection of appropriate sources of supplyMaintains awareness of vendor quality, performance and qualification standardsMonitors vendor performance from available data, performs basic analytical work (i.e., examines vendor spend over time) and identifies trendsWith guidance, performs actions to rectify poor vendor performanceMaintains effective relationships with vendors to resolve issues, helps identify strategic vendors and strives to enhance vendor relationshipsManages the vendor management process for new vendors and updates records of current vendors

Market Analysis:

Performs assessment of vendor cost proposals and identifies unfavorable financial terms, detects sources with poor economic performanceMaintains general awareness of technological trends in multiple industriesAssists with the preparation and administration of RFX eventsMaintains complete records and documentationMonitors business policies and department guidelines, educates stakeholdersRemains informed about processes in other parts of the organization with direct and indirect impact on Procurement

Business Intelligence and Reporting:

Compiles reports for monitoring activity and spending trends, and identifies and recommends potential sourcing eventsDevelops metrics and uses data to identify actionable tactical initiatives, understands data reported and underlying assumptions

Internal Dynamics, Collaboration and Communication:

Recommends ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency to add value for stakeholders and the Sourcing Team. Understands the procure-to-pay cycle, collaborates with Accounts Payable and vendor administration functions to facilitate businessConsults business stakeholders when specific conditions arise (i.e., Legal Dept.)Confirms business needs and translates them to actionable sourcing objectivesShares new learning with colleaguesParticipates in special projects and assumes other duties which may be assigned to support the department as designated by the Manager of Sourcing and Procurement and/or the Director of the Sourcing Team

Education and Experience:

Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Paralegal or similar field, or equivalent combination of education and experience requiredProfessional procurement credentials (CPM, CPSM) a plusFour plus years professional experience or equivalent education in a procurement/sourcing function

Skills and Attributes:

Understanding of an enterprise management system helpfulExperience working with data (analysis, clean-up, presentation)Strong written and oral communication skills

The salary range for this position is $55,000 USD to $61,000 USD annually.

This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including without limitation applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s annual incentive program. The amount of incentive varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the plan.

This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s standard employee benefit programs, which currently include the following: medical, dental, vision, 401k, STD/LTD and paid family leave, life and accident insurance, paid time off (flexible vacation, sick leave, and holiday pay).
