Job Summary:
The Global Sourcing Intern supports Trimble's corporate indirect software and hardware sourcing functions. This entry-level role involves assisting in developing and enhancing business relationships with suppliers and business partners, supporting contract negotiations, managing business relationships, and contributing to various sourcing projects under close supervision.
Primary Duties:
Lead and participate in cross-functional software and hardware sourcing projects with key internal stakeholders and suppliers.
Develop and manage RFI/RFP processes for various goods and services with guidance in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Prepare and execute structured negotiations following a pre-defined methodology.
Analyze quotes and negotiate commercial contracts to achieve the lowest total cost and risk.
Communicate project status and risks to management to aid in planning and decision-making.
Engage in professional development activities to stay current with industry best practices.
Demonstrate exemplary integrity and ethics in all instances.
Key Organizational Interfaces:
Collaborate with Information Services, Licensing, Purchasing, Legal, Cyber Security, and Business Areas to ensure Trimble’s needs are met.
Characteristics / Skills:
Negotiation Skills: Proficient in negotiation techniques to lead negotiations and achieve favorable outcomes in business-level contract elements.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data sets and identify meaningful insights to support data-driven decision making and optimizing sourcing strategies.
Project Management: Ability to coordinate resources, manage timelines, and deliver projects on time and within budget while aligning with business objectives.
Communication Skills: Proficient at facilitating meetings and discussions, while delivering engaging and impactful communication to a diverse audience.
Technical Knowledge: Capable of comprehending sourcing processes and troubleshooting software model structures effectively.
Proficiency in spreadsheet, word processing, and communication software.
Project management experience is a plus.
Education / Experience:
A rising Sophomore, Junior, or Senior at an accredited college or university studying Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or Sourcing.
Knowledge with CPM and/or PMP certification is a plus but not required.
