Procurement Manager – Material (18 Month Contract)

Expected Salary: $86,648 to $129,971

In this role, you will:

 

Lead, develop and direct the Marine Material Procurement team, utilising effective coaching, training, and feedback. Participate in the development and implementation of the strategic plan and processes to support the Marine Procurement & Supply Chain function. Manage the purchasing process from requisition to delivery, ensuring high response rates, accountability, and reliability of the procurement team. Manage and deliver the material procurement budget and forecast to meet business objectives. Utilise analytical skills and tools to understand, measure, report, and manage functional performance, risks, and quality. Support the delivery of project objectives through the rigorous management of contract and supplier performance. Ensure all procurement processes and purchase orders are compliant with Babcock Canada’s Commercial, Quality Assurance, and Security policies and procedures. Drive supplier management initiatives, develop supplier relationships and ensure supplier performance in terms of time, cost, and quality as per contract requirements. Be committed to and proactively identify, lead, and collaborate on procurement process improvement initiatives. Encourage a continuous improvement culture while ensuring the team are proactively supporting change management. Be responsible for the occupational health & safety of all direct reports under your supervision.

 

The ideal candidate brings:

 

A minimum of 10 years’ experience in procurement or the supply chain function, with 3 years’ of proven people leadership experience Experience within the Defence / Marine industry is highly desirable. A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or have an equivalent combination of education and experience. Designation through the National Institute of Supply Chain Management, or Certificate in Procurement and Supply Operations is considered an asset. Highly developed interpersonal and communications skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Advanced skills in data analysis; proficiency with Excel, Power BI or other business intelligence tools is highly desirable. Detailed knowledge of the principles of supply chain management techniques and supply chain best practices. An understanding of global supply chains and downstream global impacts In depth experience with ERP systems, specifically modules pertaining to procurement and supply chain management. You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance
