Procurement Manager

Description Our client is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead procurement efforts for water treatment and sustainability projects. The ideal candidate will have a solid Engineering or Supply chain background, extensive procurement experience, and a proven track record of managing vendor relationships, purchasing, and logistics. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective supply of materials for water treatment and sustainability projects.
Manage supplier relationships to ensure the highest quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of goods and services.
Lead sourcing, supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management, leveraging industry best practices.
Oversee purchasing operations, inventory control, shipping & receiving, and logistics, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Utilize material planning systems and SAP (if applicable) to forecast demand and align supply chain activities with project needs.
Identify and develop strategic vendor partnerships within the water treatment and sustainability sector.
Take charge of inventory optimization to minimize waste and reduce overall costs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and finance, to align procurement activities with organizational goals.
Provide leadership and guidance to procurement team members, fostering growth and professional development.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is mandatory.
A minimum of 8 years of progressive procurement experience, preferably within the water projects, treatment, or sustainability sector.
Strong knowledge of purchasing, supplier selection, inventory control, shipping & receiving, and logistics processes.
Demonstrated experience with material planning systems.
Established network and proven vendor relationships in relevant sectors.
Proficiency in SAP or other relevant ERP systems is considered a plus.
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with a strong ability to build rapport with key stakeholders.
Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced certifications in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP, PMP, or other relevant credentials).
Experience working within global supply chains and diverse vendor environments. Requirements
• Extensive experience in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is necessary
• Proficiency in Global Procurement is required
• 10+ years in Procurement with 3+ in Managment
• Strong knowledge in Inventory Controls is mandatory
• Should have a solid understanding of Supplier Selection Processes
• Advanced Contract Negotiation
• Prior experience in Logistics almost required
• Should be capable of conducting Strategic Source Activities
• Proficiency in SAP is highly desirable
