Job Purpose
The Procurement Manager, reports to the Supply Chain Director, is a pivotal member of the Supply Chain Management (SCM) team, providing strategic and commercial support to Pizza Hut's Europe and UK&I markets. This role is instrumental in developing and executing procurement strategies that manage risk and drive value for both the company and its franchise partners. The Procurement Manager oversees the procurement and supply chain for selected food categories, as well as non-food products and distribution management across the UK and Europe markets.
This position demands strong commercial acumen in the food service or food retail sectors, with experience managing multi-million-pound expenditures. Exceptional stakeholder management skills and a proactive, self-starting attitude are essential.. A proven track record in negotiation and advanced analytical problem-solving skills are required.
Job Functions
Lead and manage the procurement and supply chain operations for selected food categories, along with non-food products and distribution management across the UK and European markets. Develop and implement category strategies to drive performance and deliver business objectives. Collaborate closely with the Supply Chain Director and serve as a key member of the Supply Chain Management team to support the company's growth strategy and ensure world-class operational excellence. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and deliver competitive advantages by optimizing supplier performance, securing cost improvements, and achieving efficiency savings across the supply chain. Partner with European supply chain leads and stakeholders to focus on global, regional, and local procurement opportunities, maximizing value creation for both the UK market and European partners. Identify, evaluate, and recommend new materials, processes, and innovative techniques to enhance profitability, productivity, and operational effectiveness. Stay ahead of market trends, commodity movements, and industry developments to ensure informed decision-making and proactive risk management. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment of priorities, full operational understanding, and collaborative achievement of goals. Champion cross-brand initiatives and share best practices across the Yum! system, leveraging synergies and creating opportunities for mutual growth. Strong experience of product types and process is essential. External Procurement skills such as CIPS (or partial CIPS) completion advantageous but not essential. A minimum of 5 years overall commercial experience in procurement position preferably £50m plus in size (total business turnover). Previous relevant experience as a procurement manager, ideally having experience of managing and negotiating with suppliers of goods. Demonstrated track record of strong negotiating performance and cross functional problem solving. Ability to understand and appreciate technical issues associated with purchase and supply of food items and adhere and commercialise them. Ability to respond quickly and to maintain supply for multi-outlet store system subject to substantial trade fluctuations and logistical bottlenecks. Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with other departments, suppliers and franchisees. Ability to work in a team environment in order to achieve revenue, profit and growth targets. Willingness to travel, if needed to the variety of market where franchisees and suppliers are based, typically UK & Europe.Work Environment
This role is based out of our Restaurant Support Centre in Central London, a minimum of 1 days per week in the RSC is required. Additionally, travel to Supplier facilities based in the United Kingdom and Europe may be required from time to time. As Pizza Hut is a franchise business, you may also be required to attend franchisee offices, and other locations from time to time. There will be events throughout the year that will take place in London including (but not limited to) RSC days, Functional team meetings / 121s and supporting with market visits.
