The Role
As a Procurement and Supply Chain Specialist, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Focused on performing procurement, supply chain, and logistics functions, ensuring integrated workflow amongst internal functions and outside suppliers.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the steps of the procurement cycle from development of strategies that satisfy business needs; conducting market analysis; supplier selection; contract implementation; supply management strategies; managing the flow of goods and services through to consumption:

 

Playing a critical role in adding value and reducing risk to the business by working collaboratively with suppliers to support business operations. Continually improving the movement of goods and materials through various production processes. Focus on developing and implementing P&SC strategies for specific projects within a Business Unit area, providing contract solutions to enable project delivery. Run strategic sourcing exercises and undertake Contract Management, Supplier Performance Management & Supplier Relationship Management. Responsible for the project supply base design to satisfy the business needs, and for realising benefit primarily through strategic sourcing & contract management.

 

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and requires regular travel to Warrington on a weekly basis alongside home working arrangements.

 

Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. Essential Experience of the Procurement and Supply Chain Specialist: 

Ability to work in cross functional teams and experience of stakeholder management as well as influencing skills. A sound understanding of end-to-end sourcing and supplier management processes together with an ability to identify and capture incremental value in an operational working environment. Experience of planning and implementing supply arrangements, managing supplier performance and scheduling of deliveries. Understanding of contract terms and conditions and an ability to draft subcontract terms as required and appropriate. Familiarity with NEC models is highly advantageous but, not essential.

 

Qualifications for the Procurement and Supply Chain Specialist: 

Ideally, you will hold a recognised professional procurement and / or supply chain qualification (CIPS, MCIPS) or equivalent / similar.

 

Security Clearance
