Process Technician I

Position: Process Technician I

Location: Franklin Park, IL

Wage:  $30.30/hr

Shift: M- F 6am - 2pm

Reporting directly to the Plant Engineer, as a Process Technician you will be responsible for work as a hands-on process technician to continuously improve our process, products and systems in a safe and efficient manner to meet and exceed our goals for safety, quality, and productivity. Direct and coordinate the process control of both thermoforming and extrusion equipment to ensure the manufacturing processes is in control, operating at maximum efficiencies, and that the extruded roll stock and thermoformed product meets or exceeds the customer requirements for quality and service. Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success.

What you’ll be doing:

The safety and health of employees take precedence over all duties of this jobMonitors cycle times and adjusts as needed. Maintain accuracy of processes during production.Proficiency on Microsoft Office (Excel, Power point, Word)Modify processes as required for product ordersCorrect errors and work with operators to constantly improve process clarification and effectiveness.Conduct mechanical tasks such as process monitoring, sampling and testing, preparing and isolating equipment for maintenanceProvide technical support to shift for trouble shooting and problem resolutionEnsure equipment and processes meet and sustain standard production outputsMonitors operations process, work, and material flow to ensure quality and customer specs are met.Assists maintenance with preventative maintenance projects.Back-up on running presses during breaks, etc. and also back up to shift supervisor.Conducts test and trial runs as needed.Assists in mold changes and repairs as needed to optimize the molding processMaintains cleanliness of work areaTraining of Production Supervisors and other Process Technicians Performs all duties in a manner that demonstrates the highest level of quality and safetyProvide repair and replacement of electrical and/or pneumatic instrumentation and control systemsMaintain and improve upon existing manufacturing practices for the manufacture of finished goods.Capable to create data base and manipulate charts,Creating and understanding Pareto chartsUnderstanding and developing projects to improve PPK’s throughout the plantProficient on quality equipment calibrationKnowledgeable on Thermoforming process (how to set up equipment, knowledge on mechanical components, electrical components, pneumatics)Be able to create, develop and maintain recipes on ThermoformingKnowledgeable on Extrusion process (how to set up equipment, knowledge on mechanical components, electrical components, pneumatics)Be able to create, develop and maintain recipes on ExtrusionCapable to detect deficiencies and implement process-countermeasures to solve problemsProficient on Infinity data base, Agile, Vorne, OEE studioLead an SPS teamBe able to develop blue belt projectProficient with 3d design software (AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS, INVENTOR)Capable to handle projects (upgrading equipment, managing contractors)Create and run CAA capital projectsPropose and implement continuous improvement projects on the production floorCommunicate with internal and external customers in a professional mannerResponsible for implementing visual controls and standard work in departmentWork with the plant and management to improve safety initiatives
