Process Operator
Job Title: Process Operator- $24.56/hr

Job Description

As a Process Operator, you will be working in the Process Area of our refractory plant, which specializes in manufacturing bricks for high heat applications. The role involves a long process to create and heat-treat bricks before they are shipped out to customers. The bricks range in size from 3 inches to 33 inches long. This position requires working in a hot, physically demanding, and repetitive environment.

ResponsibilitiesOperate sit-down forklifts and perform data entry tasks.Lift and move materials weighing 25-50 pounds, including repetitive lifting and motions.Perform basic math skills for counting bricks and pallets.Rotate through 10 different workstations, learning and becoming proficient in each area.Work at the Lingl station, removing tie-ins on pallets and stacking them on different pallets.Feed bricks into the oven at the Cascade Feed station, using a lift vacuum for longer bricks.Stack bricks on pallets at the Size Check area.Oversee robots at the Robot area, addressing alarms and loading pallets into machines.Perform frequent data entry and forklift operations in the FL driver role.Operate the shrinking area, sealing pallets with a heat gun and printing shipping labels.Essential SkillsExperience with sit-down forklift operation.Basic computer skills for data entry.Basic math skills for counting bricks and pallets.Ability to lift 20-50 pounds and perform repetitive motions.Strong awareness of safety protocols.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious experience in a manufacturing environment.Inspection and troubleshooting skills.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The work environment can reach up to 120 degrees in certain areas, but workstations are equipped with AC units to maintain a temperature of around 70 degrees. The plant is generally clean, though it can be dirty at times, and can be loud, but ear protection is not required. All candidates must train on the first shift for 4-5 weeks with hours from 6 AM to 6 PM or 6 AM to 3 PM, Monday through Friday, with possible rotating weekends. Most openings are currently on the second shift, with hours from 6 PM to 6 AM or standard M-F shifts depending on the department. Dress code includes long pants and t-shirts, with uniforms provided.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.56 - $24.56/hr.
