Our Opening and Your ResponsibilitiesRole/Purpose:The Process Improvement Engineer evaluates and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing lean tools and concepts applied to product design, materials, parts, fabrication processes, tooling, production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards. 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:Champion and leverage Lean Manufacturing culture on the shop floor in the design and execution of new manufacturing processes, methodologies and equipment layouts to improve overall equipment effectiveness.Develop, maintain, and train on manufacturing work instructions utilized across production, of all product models, production lines, and warehouse activitiesSupport/Lead manufacturing and operational cost savings initiatives and kaizens with support of other departments such as manufacturing, engineering, continuous improvement, sales, and others as requiredProvide daily tactical support to Manufacturing and other operational functions related to the shop floor through continuous monitoring, interaction, and direct support requestAct as a liaison between Electrical/Mechanical Engineering and manufacturing, and serve as the leader to resolve any challenges that arise in the manufacturing processCreating an efficient, effective, and dependable set of processes focusing on the elimination of waste in all areas of the company. Work with leadership teams to define the current and future state Value Streams to plan and prioritize continuous improvement activities.Provide leadership / mentoring / training to the fabrication team on the use and practice of Lean methodology and tools (VSM, 5S, Kaizen, SMED, “Design for Lean”, MDI, etc…)Optimize work center layout, space requirements, material flow and process to improve productivity and eliminate wasteWork with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient and repeatable production methodsWork as a key driver of change within Fabrication, supporting /cross functional decisions by communicating changes to employees and helping them to learn, understand, adjust and grow with the business’s Lean transformationmanufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processesOptimize the bench strength in automationImplement the CAD to CAM changesSupport new material set up, by creating as well as, updating existing production related master data such as routings and work center setup/designWhat You Need to SucceedKnowledge, Skills, Attitude:Ability to work within a team environment using consensus building to achieve a desired result, has excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to reach out to and work with other teams as required through self-motivation and understanding of End-to-End process implications  Ability to create and analyze processes including development & monitoring of performance metrics associated with those processes Knowledge of manufacturing, warehousing, and other supporting supply chain processesBackground in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, and/or Electrical EngineeringAutomation StrengthCAD to CAM implementation experience Fluent computer skills in Microsoft Office based programsThis position is considered safety sensitive and is subject to drug testing as permitted by law.

Minimum Education / Experience Required:Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering required.
