Process Engineer – radiation technology

Then we look forward to you joining our team within manufacturing processes at Westinghouse Nuclear Fuel Factory.

 

Welcome to Manufacturing Processes & Testing (BQP), which is part of the fuel factory's Quality and Process department. We are responsible for the development and control of the factory's manufacturing processes, including welding processes, non-destructive testing and material testing. You will join a team of 40 employees in the roles of manager, engineer and technicians. We have expertise competence in areas such as materials science, mechanical engineering, chemistry, welding technology, NDT and measurement technology.

The fuel factory is in a stage of expansion and there are many new products and many improvement plans ongoing. We are now looking for a process engineer with the responsibility in measurement techniques in radiation technology.

 

Your contribution to the cross over to fossil free energy

As a process engineer your major responsibilities is to support the manufacturing with your expertise regarding measurements techniques and systems. This include:

Develop, process control and qualification of measurement and NDT processes, including documentation. Automatic measurement methods and AI. Participate in development, improvement and investment projects regarding measurement techniques and NDT Daily support and train our staff in the manufacturing departments. Process follow up and process control of fuel rod scanning. Review manufacturing documentation, drawings, specifications. Contact with customers, suppliers, authorized bodies and other fuel factories within Westinghouse.

In the daily work you will help uphold our quality expectations, ensure that risks or other insecurities are lifted and handled according to our high standard and routines. You will work at our office at Bränslegatan, Västerås with a hybrid work schedule when it suits your tasks.

We are looking for you

To be successful in this role you are a person that put the quality and safety first. You collaborate well with both colleagues and customers in the nuclear industry. We also believe that you have experience from working with manufacturing processes from a objective perspective and have the skill to review the manufacturing process and contribute to our continuous development.

The nature of our business makes it important that you feel comfortable combining the pulse in the production with scientific tasks of more academic nature, e.g. literature studies, qualification of manufacturing processes.

 

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in relevant topic of knowledge. 5+ years experience working in manufacturing industry. Full professional proficiency in Swedish and English both written and spoken.

 

Meritorious experience

From the Nuclear industry NDT processes and methods Radiation physics Medical technology Metallic materials, e.g. stainless steel, Nii-bases or Zirconium alloys. Programming Statistical methods Data gathering data and AI in manufacturing.
