Just look up. **Are you ready to go beyond?** Columbus Engine Center (CEC) is seeking a highly-motivated, capable, self-directed individual for a Process Engineer role in support of the Commercial Geared Turbo Fan (GTF) Program. As a Process Engineer II, the core role responsibilities are centered around establishing, monitoring, and maintaining process build methods while collaborating with CIPT/Module Centers, CTS, and our internal operations and quality teams (Gated Teams) to ensure accurate and on time process plans. The Columbus Engine Center’s Gated Teams configuration symbolizes the criticality of all functional areas collaborating and selflessly partnering together to ensure right first-time execution. This role will also perform a technical advisory role in the disassembly, repair, assembly, and testing of jet engines as well as support other functions within CEC including Materials, Quality, and Accounts Management when routine technical questions and issues arise. **What You Will Do:** + Support Operations in solving any assembly/configuration/inspection problems + Create and maintain accurate process plans + Provide timely responses to Customer and Engineering technical Questions (IPFs) and requests for changes within the Engine Maintenance System + Support Powerplant Engineers in understanding work instructions for engine repairs/overhauls. (Service Bulletins, advisories, performance requirements and modification requirements) + Support Operations in troubleshooting rejected engines in test cell and/or gated areas. Monitor the disassembly of the engine to identify possible cause of reject. + Perform appropriate research, supporting and advising other functional areas regarding technical issues related to quality, operations processes, materials and customer support. + You will seek opportunities to reduce costs and increase quality and efficiency through the use of new materials, processes or technology. + Assist in training mechanics, inspectors and others related to various technical issues. + Demonstrate dedication to the EH&S and continuous improvement programs by aligning with all policies and procedures, finishing the required training, and supporting all applicable committee activities. + Support invoice & cost reduction activities. + Participate in failure investigations and Problem Resolution Boards. + Demonstrate a high level of proficiency using continuous improvement methods **What You Will Learn:** + Gain an understanding of how an MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) shop operates and the processes involved in repairing and overhauling jet engines. + Learn how to manage an engine throughout its visit to the MRO shop, ensuring targeted maintenance is completed effectively. + Understand the causes behind engine removals and the research required to address any questions that arise during the process. + Develop skills to collaborate with various engineering and technical disciplines, as well as non-technical teams. **Qualifications You Must Have:** + Bachelor's degree in STEM field of study and 2 years of work experience in manufacturing, engineering research or quality engineering role or Advanced Degree and 1 year of experience which includes in manufacturing, engineering research or quality engineering role + U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62 **Qualifications We Prefer:** + Aerospace Engineering + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite + Proficient in Solumina G8 or equivalent Engine Maintenance System + Experience in Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) for aircraft engine or the aerospace field preferred + Experience reading and/or interpreting engine manuals **Learn More and Apply:** **What is my role type?** In addition to transforming the future of flight, we are also transforming how and where we work. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility. The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
