Process Engineer / Dyeing-Solid

Position Overview

Shaw Industries is searching for a Process Engineer to coordinate efforts to increase production and reduce quality and claims in dyeing department.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for reliability/efficiency of production line   

Facilitate weekly downtime meetings 

Facilitate R&D requirements through dyeing as needed 

Perform daily line audits 

Review rolls held HK, HN daily 

Fill-in as line supervisor when needed 

Fill-in as department manager when needed 

Audit ABCDE finished cuts 

Coordinate MTR’s in dyeing 

Coordinate improvement efforts set forth by department manager 

Interface with Plant Maintenance to establish priorities on production line 

Attend dye technical meetings 

Assist in keeping work areas in a clean, orderly manner 

Use Formula Control System as needed to maintain dye and chemical formulas

Requirements: 

Four-year Degree preferably in Engineering 

Strong quantitative & communication skills (Oral, written, & presentation to individuals & groups).

Preferred: 

Salary Grade S05 or S06 based on experience

Demonstrate a willingness and aptitude to complete Black Belt and Standard Work Training.

Degree in Engineering

Strong project management skills.

Understanding of computer software such as Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Minitab, etc.

Previous manufacturing experience preferred. 

Work Shift

8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AM
